Now Expect Delhi’s Own Sports University To Be Operational Soon

If all goes well, then in the coming few days, Delhi’s own sports university shall engulf the capital in new headlines.

Typically speaking, when one talks about Delhi then more often than not, the discussion usually ranges from food and culinary culture, the greenery in the capital city, and the extravagant shopping culture.

India Today

A city that welcomes tourists from all around the world, another aspect of Delhi that often captivates the attention of the people is the student life in the much-talked-about Delhi University.

As a city, Delhi has several universities for one to pursue legal and medical education, there being no dearth in quality engineering colleges. But that told, if there’s something that the city’s truly lacked over the years, then it’s concerned with Delhi’s own sports university.

So far, in all these decades, a true void of sorts is in the form of Delhi’s own sports university! Isn’t it?

But maybe, with the Aam Aadmi Party at the helm of the affairs in the national capital, this too seems all set for a change. With an aim to equip budding and developing sportsmen and sports-inclined women athletes, Delhi’s own sports university will offer several degrees to this lot that will be at par with the degrees in the other courses at graduate, postgraduate, as well as doctoral levels.

In a string of latest handy developments that are aimed at equipping the country’s national capital with a state of the art physical and intellectual infrastructure, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government is working relentlessly to lend the spirit of the city a magnificent facelift.

The above is not an outlandish claim nor a false promise. And this can be easily understood by the fact that after the successful facelift of several thousands of government schools, that have undergone tremendous infrastructural changes, the Aam Aadmi Party government has only recently introduced newer amenities toward the capital region’s urban public transport and healthcare system.

But elaborating on the aspect of Delhi’s new upcoming sports university, India Today, among the most widely read media outlets in the city carried forward some interesting insights pertaining to the work in progress:

A Bill approved by the Cabinet will be sent to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal, Kejriwal said. After that, the Bill will be tabled in the Delhi Assembly and the university will be opened on a 90-acre of land in Mundka. This sports university will grant you a degree in sports such as cricket, and hockey.

A passionate sportsperson can now devote all of his time to playing and excelling in sports. His graduation, post-graduation, and doctorate degrees will be in the subjects of sports, he said. terming it as India’s first Sports University’.

Speaking to the media in the presence of his Deputy (Chief Minister), Mr. Manish Sisodia, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal also highlighted the fact that a bill approved by the Cabinet will be sent to Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal.
