According To Kejriwal Delhi Govt. Built 23 Flyovers In 4.5 Years! Do You Agree?

Delhi’s admired for its diverse culinary culture. When you compare it to other urban cities of India, then its wide roads and green open space charm their way to your heart. Once you are here, you could find yourself tucked into a wide variety of food.

And at the same time, the warmth of its people strikes you. People who despite leading busy lives, stop by and say hello. You cannot get lost the way you can in the urban chaos of Mumbai- they say.

But if there’s something that’s emerged as the great nadir of Delhi over the years then it’s the traffic situation. Constantly spreading traffic snarls are about as irritating as finding a mosquito inside your bed-tea. Not a great sight, ever. To this end, the Delhi government has made a few flyovers over these years to combat a situation that often goes out of hand.

And recently, not too many hours ago, Mr. Arvind Kejriwal made some observations about flyovers in Delhi that could perhaps make for a lasting debate. According to the noted chief minister, the Delhi Govt. made nearly 23 flyovers in the past four and a half years.

What do you think?

Mr. Kejriwal was at the opening ceremony of the much-awaited 2.8 km-signal free RTR (or Rao Tula Ram) flyover that’s only just been inaugurated.

There he said that a few more flyovers will come up before the end of the tenure of his government in Delhi. What’s important to note is that the elevated corridor of the Rao Tula Ram flyover was made at a staggering cost of INR 205 crores. It stands loftily at the Outer Ring Road.

This work for this began in 2014 and was slated to have been completed in 2016. But worked continued and the project took far longer than was expected. That said, Mr. Kejriwal was quick to hit out at a member of the opposition party during the inauguration of the flyover because the person wanted to take credit for its completion.

Speaking on the occasion and addressing the public-at-large, Mr. Kejriwal shared, “In 15 years, the Sheila Dikshit government built 70 flyovers. In the last four-and-a-half years, our (AAP) government has built 23 flyovers.”

He was also respectful of his predecessors saying that his party doesn’t want to attack anyone and wishes to treat all with integrity. How thoughtful of you sir!
