This Park In Tamil Nadu Has Banned The Entry Of Unmarried Couple And Our Head Is Spinning!

In recent years, we have done so much to preserve our “Indian Culture”. What not happens in the name of saving our culture, people are actually forced to follow customs and rituals in almost all the parts of India and how can we forget the lethal honor killing, all that in the name of “Sanskaar”.

But wait till you hear this. The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University in Coimbatore actually asked its Botanical Garden’s security to restrict the public entry. The fact that they will only allow married couples along with their children, leaves us in splits.

Basically, they have banned the entry of unmarried couples in its botanical garden. Apparently, this decision hasn’t been taken in a jiffy. The university has taken this decision after they have received numerous complaints from the locals.

The locals, as well as the students of the university, have complained that couples use this garden as their meeting and recreational spot. The head of the floriculture department at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, M Kannan has stated, that after the constant complaints about the couples who have been using the garden area as their hiding and recreation spot, the university has come up with this solution.

He also added that even before this rule. they tried to put up some rules and regulations such as asking for their ID proofs and other details but the couples continued to misbehave and caused a lot of discomfort to other visitors of the park. So there is no way out for them now.

After the university took this decision a lot of people have protested against it. People who are visiting this place with a group of the same gender are not allowed, the guards have asked them for their marriage certificate for the entry.

That’s not all, there is a register at the entrance where you have to put many details such as; name, phone number, your address and what not. The university has previously taken such action.

While preventing the garden from becoming a playground for couples who perform indecent gestures in public is okay but asking for a marriage certificate has gone too far.

While India and the people of our country are actually trying to adopt the modern thinking, and learning to respect the individualism, such actions are only pushing us o the backward thinking which is for no good.

We really hope they drop the idea of a marriage certificate and come up with a better rule.
