Want AC In Your Helmet? This Hyderabad Startup Is Already Making Them!

If you haven’t already noticed, summer is waving a hello from just around the corner. It’s almost here and soon we will be fried regularly by burning sun rays and try to put on tons of sunscreen to prevent tanning. As if the wrath of the sun is not sufficient, people who ride two-wheelers also have to put on helmets that make them sweat like a pig. All of that just in the name of summer. Sometimes we think the whole concept of the helmet was to torture two-wheeler drivers rather than safety.

However, we all know it’s not true, as much as we hate the fact that it makes us irritated to the core in summers it is important but why does it have to be heavy and create more heat than inside? Well, a startup in Hyderabad may have just the solution to all these whinings.

Helmets with air-conditioning are making there way to our lives all thanks to three young college graduates. Kausthub Kaundinya, Sreekanth Kommula and Anand Kumar (all three 22-year-old) are mechanical engineers who have been working on an AC helmet.

These helmets might be available for commercial use sooner. All three of them have graduated from VNR Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Bachupally, in 2016. After a thorough study, they realized that an AC helmet is a need of market, and they started working on this project.

Considering the name they have chosen for this AC helmet, they seem a huge Iron Man fan. They have named it Jarsh, which stands for Just A Rather Safe Helmet, which is very similar to by Jarvis which stands for Just A Rather Very Intelligent System.

The helmet comes in two variants, one that has two-hour battery life and other that has an eight-hour battery life. It is 250 grams heavier than a normal helmet as the cooling system installed in it runs on a thermoelectric process. Jarsh also has unbreakable eye protection and thermal protection.

The cost of this helmet is estimated around Rs. 7500 which, considering the benefit sounds justifying.

So are you looking forward to wear Jarsh, huh?
