Delhi Struck By 300 New COVID 19 Cases For Second Consecutive Day!

If you are practicing a bit of casualness given the COVID 19 norms in Delhi and not giving due importance to the most vital standing rule in these Coronavirus times, then you are best advised to follow caution and stay alert. Perhaps it’s wise to be aware of just what is going on in the national capital of the country, New Delhi. Well, here’s what’s shocking and may take you in by a bit of a surprise: for the second successive day, starting March 5, 2021 Delhi observed 300 new cases in the capital city.

But is that all? Surely, not! The city of Delhi, as on Saturday, tested no fewer than 53,062, which consisted of around 24,377 Rapid Antigen Tests.

What’s more?

There’s also been one reported death in the course of the last 48 hours. Furthermore, the overall tally of the COVID 19 infections in Delhi has reached 640, 815.

One wonders, if that is not a mammoth figure, then what is?

This also includes, no fewer than 10,919 deaths as on date. However, that being said, at present, the active caseload of COVID 19 cases remain at 1,779.

Now one might wonder whether there’s some bright light at the end of the tunnel in midst of the ensuing chaos?

To that end, it helps to know that while the fresh cases of COVID 19 kept hampering the national capital, there were, according to reports, a few recoveries in there as well.

The number of recoveries as on Saturday, i.e., March 6, 2021 stood at 320. This basically means that the overall stack of recoveries of those grappling with the stingy COVID 19 virus currently stand at 628,117.

The city had tested 53,062 samples on Saturday comprising 28,685 RTPCR/CBNAAT/ True Nat tests and 24,377 Rapid Antigen tests. Total tests conducted in Delhi reached 12,734,503 and the tests per million count stand at 670,237 tests. The cumulative positivity rate, considering the total tests done and the total positive cases found, stands at 5.03 per cent and the case fatality rate (CFR) stands at 1.7 per cent, as per the latest data. The city currently has 879 patients on home isolation and 562 containment zones, as per the latest data.

Moving on, while there seems to be, in no uncertain terms, a second coming of the pandemic in even the most advanced and forward-looking nations on the planet- think Germany, France, Finland, et cetera, the need to exercise caution and follow the social-distancing norms has only increased.

So while many would consider that the worst was over when the dreaded 2020 drew to an end, who would, it must be asked, be willing to take chances?

Surely, while 2021 did bring about a solution in the form of the vaccine, India itself producing the much-talked-about Covaxin, touted for its 81 percent efficiency, there’s no need to drop one’s guard or anchor in the fight against the deadly Coronavirus!

What’s more? In addition to Delhi, that is witnessing a fresh spike in COVID cases, there are other regions too in India that seem to have been gripped in a new surge of the virus’ cases, these being- Maharashtra, Kerala.

In fact, states like Madhya Pradesh have asked for a COVID negative report from visitors coming from Maharashtra. Will better times prevail up ahead?
