Davido, real name David Adeleke, is the richest musician in Nigeria based on his wealth and network. His debut Album Omo Baba Olowo – OBO made headlines in the year 2012; and since then, he has signed several lucrative endorsement deals worth millions.
The musician has also done several local and international tours over the past two years and these concerts are sold out. Some of his hit singles include tracks IF and Fall, which have crossed over 60 million views on YouTube. In fact, the singer announced that he had made over $ 1 million with ‘pon pon’ sound. His advertising contracts include brands such as AX; a popular perfume brand; Infinix, a well-known mobile phone manufacturer and many more.
Recently there have been rumors that Davido bought a Bombardier jet. While this has not yet been resolved, there was another interesting story that indicated the amount of money available. In 2018, Davido was the talk of the city when he spent ₦ 45 million to buy a brand new Porsche for his girlfriend Chioma on her birthday.
Davido came into the spotlight in 2011 when he released the hit single ‘Dami Duro’; which was well received across Nigeria. He released his debut album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ in 2012. The album contained popular hits like ‘Back When’ with Naeto C, ‘Dami Duro’. Davido along with his older brother Adewale Adeleke own HKN Music. He is also a record producer and has produced songs for Naeto C, Skales, Tiwa Savage and Sauce Kid.
In 2012, Davido signed an advertising contract with MTN Nigeria which was worth over ₦ 30 million. Davido was introduced as the face of MTN Pulse, through a marketing campaign for the Nigerian youth. In 2013 Davido was partner of Guinness Nigeria for the concert ‘Guinness World of More’. He appeared alongside D’banj, Wizkid, Eisprinz, Burna Boy and others which was a big deal for Davido back then.
Davido also has his own label with the name of Davido Music Worldwide (DMW); under which singers like Dremo and Mayorkun are currently signed. Davido is the richest Nigerian Singer.
