On “World Water Day” Let Your Mind Be Blown By These Water Facts

March 22nd is observed as “World Water Day”, which was first dedicated in 1993 by the United Nations General Assembly. “World Water Day” is said to be about taking actions against the adversity of water crisis. We as the world are constantly failing in terms of environmental issues and with Climate Change being more alarming than ever, we have to and need to think our decisions through.

The Sustainable Development Goals, launched in 2015, have set a target to make sure that everyone has access to safe water by 2030. Water is said to be a key issue in the fight to eradicate extreme poverty. However, a report released by the UN under Thirsting for a Future: Water and Children in a Changing Climate, states that by 2040, one in four of the world’s children would be living in areas with extremely limited water resources.

Millions of people are already facing an extreme famine in areas like Nigeria, Somalia, Ethiopia, Yemen and South Sudan. In such case, we all have to come together in order to work for the betterment of our world for others and even the coming generations. There are some overwhelming facts about water that we somehow fail to come across and clearly understand. Once we get the numbers, only then can we get a clearer vision of the barbarity we will have to face in the future.

Read these facts and let your mind be blown:
