We all heard, read or saw Donald Trump’s sudden victory over the title of President of the United States of America. People are outraged and can’t decide what they should actually do in a situation like this. However, the result was not expected to be like this, people didn’t predict Trump to win the race. Hillary Clinton was more of an obvious choice, she was supported by a majority of celebrities, media houses and even some of the most influential people in America, but she lost.
While some believe, that her E-Mail scandal was the major reason behind her loss. A scandal in which she was under Federal Investigation for using a private email server, which was cleared just 2 days before the actual day of voting. However, that’s not all, Donald Trump’s controversies are some big shoes to fill in, in order to be considered not worthy of the position of President of America. So, what actually made the Americans possibly change their mind and decision, because, till last month, Hillary Clinton had 95% chances of winning the race.
1. Immigration – too big of an issue
Immigration was a very big and important issue in this election, and both the candidates covered well. However, the Republican candidate’s stand was very brutal and very clear. Donald Trump came up with his “building a great wall”, on the southern border.
Americans were very keen on having their jobs back from immigrants, which is what Trump focused on. It won’t be wrong to say that one of the main reasons behind Trumps win was this.
However, Hillary Clinton wasn’t brutal about her statements, because she was not brutal about her ideology. Maybe, that’s what the Americans didn’t expect and wanted from their new President.
2. Going With Obama Care
Most of the Americans were not happy with Obama Care and strongly opposed it, time after time. While Hillary Clinton came out with, keeping the scheme in action for the people, Donald Trump wanted to scrap it, as soon as he comes into power.
Trump was constantly promoting tax-free health savings account for his fellow Americans.
3. The Email controversy
This was one of the major issues which gave Hillary a back seat, throughout the elections. She was constantly ridiculed and judged on her email controversy, to which she could only respond in an apology. Then FBI reopened the case, just 10 days before the actual election day, which ignited the entire fire again.
4. No taking the White’s side
No matter how much we want to believe, that America is a country of every race and ethnicity, this US elections’ result gave an answer just opposite to that. Donald Trump played with the minds of White men and women, who felt that this is not their country anymore. Clinton didn’t get too involved with this concept, which cost her this election. She could have taken the time to make white American men and women realise that she is here for them, that she would listen and work for them as much as, she will do, for any other American citizen. She could have cleared the description of – why America is a melting pot.
5. The Clinton Foundation tragedy
There have been certain allegations of, that The Clinton Foundation received tonnes of donation from foreign investors and some of them have been from countries like – Saudi Arabia and Qatar. These countries have also been an active donator for various terrorist groups, which got her into the negative light. All this happened while Hillary was the Secretary of State, but there are no evidences of, if she personally received any gifts or money from these people.
6. Getting Americans the job they want
Donald Trump promised to create 25 million jobs all over the US in the next decade, which would majorly go to people belonging to true American households. To this matter, Hillary Clinton didn’t say anything, not even a lie to keep the voter’s interest.
7. She was too trained for the position
Many of the voters claimed that Trump can be a good President because he speaks his mind and says what he feels like, they appreciated his honesty. For them, Hillary Clinton was too trained and too strategic with each and every move of hers. They wanted to introduce a man to the world as their leader, who was not too trained and too politicised, someone who can give the world an upper American hand.
8. She was a Woman
The fact that Hillary Clinton was a Woman, was a serious reason behind her loss. Maybe America was not yet ready, to have a first woman President after a first black President, it was too progressive for them. She was overqualified for a man’s job, of leading the country. After all, being a racist and sexist and a sexual assaulter is still more acceptable than being women.
She lost the race and nothing can be done about it now, and there were many reasons behind her loss. While some of these reasons where her political wrongdoings, others were just because of who and what she was.
