Not since the Second World War has the world witnessed carnage of that scale. Let’s shed light on some 9/11 facts, that you should know.

Few would’ve have thought that the 9/11 terrorist attacks inflicted on American soil would cause a dent so lasting that it would change the face of the most powerful nation in the world.

Does it bother you that when you walk down the avenue leading the World Trade Center today, there is no more of those iconic Twin-Towers?

1. The mystery of the dancing Israelis

Among the most powerful nations in the world when it comes to defense preparedness; and the ability to fight back against terrorist attacks, only the misinformed take Israel lightly.

But while a lot is known about the human tragedy concerning 9/11; less is known about the 5 Israelis who were found dancing and celebrating at the wake of the Twin Tower attacks.

Just who were they and why were the 5 Israelis, caught by cops in New York City, taken in custody?

While a part of the global media to this day suggests those were weirdo’s who found nothing better to do in the event of such horrific terrorist attacks; those who apparently dug deeper offer an alternate theory, claiming the gangly youth were part of an intelligence network.

It appears that Maria, a resident living close to the twin towers spotted the young Israelis celebrating the fall of the WTC; apparently through weird gestures on a white van roof.

The van was later confiscated and tasked by the FBI and the firm that owned the suspicious car was identified as “Urban Moving”.

2. Not enough evidence to suggest if 9/11 was an inside job

There’ve been mysteries that Nostradamus accurately predicted; and there have been those that couldn’t get solved.

Among them is 9/11. Although, top Israeli politician Ehud Barak might have other views, won’t you Sir?

A gamut of information available on the Internet suggests that Bush, who minutes before the dark event was amidst children during a school visit to the Emma E. Booker Elementary school; he was hardly shocked when informed about the attack on the twin towers.

But here’s what is known. The 9/11 Commission Report, a detailed dossier on September 11 attacks has been criticised for presenting lack of information; and for its failure for not digging deep into the unforeseen tragedy.

Critics of the report as also the citizens, to this day reserve polarized views on an event that neither could be stopped nor was particularly administered in the wake of what media believes were warning issued by the CIA, prior to the actual events. Shocking, isn’t it?

3. 9/11 facts: The mystery about Osama Bin Laden

A dreaded figure that once loomed large on the galaxy of terrorism, Osama Bin Laden, the mastermind of the terrorist attacks was finally killed in 2011. But what is often curtailed in media as also in popular round tables debates focused on security; and terrorism is the amount of time that intel agencies took in hunting down the perpetrator.

Hardliners in the West demand answers as to why did it take so long for the Saudi Arabian born terrorist to be tracked down?

If he was hiding in Pakistan, a common rabbit’s hole for most criminals, why weren’t security agencies, including those from America or its allies focusing down in that part of the sub-continent?

4. The Saudi Arabian angle to the story

It’s been 20 long, painful years since the fatal events of that dark September day. The world has remained both: constantly in search for a well-directed answer as to who exactly caused the earth-shattering event; and what exactly caused the masterminds to get away.

But right when you’re scratching your head to find an answer; a leak about Saudi Arabia has only caused a new entanglement to the event.
In developing news, the Saudi Arabian Embassy based in Washington is said to have funded the event of a colossal upset; having first sent two terror operatives to the US, two years prior to September 9/11.

5. The Freedom Tower

You attack our heart, and we answer back with our soul. That seems to be the underlying reply of America who bounced back in the face of such adversity courtesy the 104-floor tower, One World Trade Center.

A figure of America’s architectural superiority, the Freedom Tower or the One World Trade Center stand 541 m in height and bask in the glory of the welcoming New York skies; where the Twin-Towers once stood with might and grandeur.

The tallest building in the Western Hemisphere might’ve opened in 2015 but is by far, one of the most sought after spots seen and admired even on Google Maps.

Every democracy faces a time when it has to negotiate with its own values, so said the great Golda Meir. For America though, the aftermath of this terrible event brought forth a time where it had to engage in serious dialogue: that of rediscovering the meaning of being an American?

Are Muslims, Jews, Buddhists and, others who are settled in America not Americans; is America not their home too?

Why did the average American muslim face scathing indifference in the aftermath of 9/11? Why do the non-whites in America, to this day, continue to undergo strange questioning, every now and again, at various security counters to enter; leave America is a ghastly truth that’s part of everyday living. For a nation that’s land to the free and home to the brave, these truths are anything but ideal values.
