This Model Was The Face Of A Popular Meme And Her Life Is Ruined By The Internet

I’m pretty sure all of you’ve seen this particular meme on the Internet, where a woman was sued by his husband because he had married her, due to the sole reason of her being pretty and having beautiful kids, however, some long years of marriage and 3 children later he realised, that he has been conned. Yes, his wife went under a knife to get all the beauty she had, which eventually didn’t pass on to their children. So, he went ahead with a court case and actually won it.

Remember? If this story didn’t give you the actual image of what happened, then this family portrait might do the work for you.

Now that the picture and memory are much clear, let’s point out some of the flaws in this story. First of all, that man was suffering from some extreme case of paranoia if the sole purpose of his marriage was to produce beautiful babies. However, it’s all fake. Yes, you heard it right. There was never a story or case fought and won, like this.

It was all lies, cultivated by the petty and weird minds present on the Internet. The picture originally belonged to a short-lived print advertisement for a South Korean plastic surgery company. It featured two very good looking parents and their three photoshopped-eyed children, and it said: “The only thing you’ll have to worry about is how to explain it to the kids”. The surgery advertisement is for the huge trend of achieving double-eyelid in certain Asian countries (as it is considered to give you a western and beautiful look).

This small advertisement ruined the female model, Heidi Yeh, life. After she realised that the picture and the fake story has indeed gone viral as everyone was sharing it. Heidi has never had any plastic surgery, however, after this viral meme, people stopped believing and giving her anymore modelling contract.

BBC covered her story, where the model can actually be seen having a meltdown on her life. Heidi is now suing the advertising agency, J. Walter Thompson (JWT) and the cosmetic clinic which was behind the photo being viral. Originally according to her contract, the photo was supposed to be used in only one print advertisement.
