We all remember the mystical and frozen to death forests of Narnia that ignited the love for snow in every kid’s heart in the early 2000s. From those snow-white trees to absolutely still lake and waterfall, everything can easily be drawn to a conclusion of being one of the beautiful lands of Hollywood.
However, this week the Niagara Falls in America is seriously giving the land of Narnia a run for its money.
According to the Niagara Falls State Park website, the famous Horseshoe Falls turns over 681,750 gallons of water every second. This last week the temperature got so cold that the fall froze and turned into a beautiful winter wonderland.
Actually, the falls itself is not frozen solid, the area surrounding the rushing waters has been coated with thick frost and ice that makes the whole area look practically sparkling. Well, this has proved that Niagara Falls are not just a summer destination but an equally enticing winter one. You can totally visit the falls and experience a view of a lifetime.
Tons of tourists have already reached the falls to catch the incredible view of frozen Niagara Falls, while simultaneously braving the incredible cold. The temperature has reached – 15-degree Celsius, with a wind chill of 11 degrees below zero, according to measurements from the Canadian government.
Along with the water around the falls, the trees and even the benches have turned ice cold. The snow is expected to last throughout the week with the temperature hovering between -13 degree to – 6-degree Celsius.
