The Third Presidential Debate: This One Won’t Stay In Vegas

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump dueled for the third and the last time at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and both the candidates were evidently ready for a fight.

Donald Trump’s performance in the last two debates has not been good and all the recent allegations of sexual abuse have further weakened his standings in the public polls. His decision to invite Malik Obama (Barack Obama’s half brother) and Leslie Millwee (she accused Bill Clinton of sexual abuse) as his guests, was the evidence of his desperation to bounce back in the Presidential race.

The debate Moderator was Chris Wallace from Fox News.

Format: The debate started at 6:30 am IST on Thursday and was concluded after 90 min at 8:00 am. It was divided into six segments of 15 minutes each. Every segment consisted a single question with 2 minutes time given to each candidate to answer, followed by a 10-minute open debate.

The questions were decided by the Moderator himself and were not shared with either the commission or the candidates.

Here is what Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton said on the five most important topics.

1. Supreme Court

Hillary Clinton: She supported the Supreme Court’s decision to make abortion legal as she thinks that it is a fundamental right of US Citizens.

Donald Trump:
He opposed the Court’s decision in Roe vs Wade case and said that it is against humanity to kill a child before the birth and being a woman, Hillary Clinton should understand this.

In the 10 minutes open debate, the focus shifted towards the gun laws and Clinton said her support for the gun laws doesn’t mean that a person who should not have a gun (convicts), will be able to get one and threatens other citizens. She wanted to infuse proper regulations to the existing gun laws. On the other hand, Trump said that there is no need to improve the gun laws and the problem is caused by people who use guns. He also reminded the attendees of his plan to bring back the ‘stop and frisk’ policy.

2. Immigration

Donald Trump: He criticized Hillary Clinton for opening borders to more immigrants as according to the facts collected by him, many of these immigrants became a convict and have claimed lives of thousands of US citizens. He also stated that the immigrants are the main source of illegal import of drugs in America and he wants to create a hypothetical barrier which will not allow foreigners to enter America.

Hillary Clinton: She said that the US has around 11 million undocumented people and an additional 4 million children. If the nation goes according to Donald Trump’s plans, the immigrant officials will have to raid schools and houses to track these people and that will rip apart the lives of immigrants, which will further rip the country apart and this is not what United States Of America has stood for in the past. The best way to tackle this problem is by deporting the violent immigrants or who has a criminal record and not all the immigrants.

In the open debate, both the candidates got furious at each other as this is the topic that majorly divides the candidates’ campaign. Hillary Clinton targeted Trump by saying that he didn’t have the guts to talk about the Mexican wall that he wants to build during his recent visit to Mexican President. On the other hand, Trump defended this argument by accusing Hillary of not constructing a wall as promised in the year 2006.

3. Economy (Growth and Job Creation)

Hillary Clinton: She wanted to start investing in small corporations as these companies contribute around two-third of the jobs is the USA . She also promised to make education free for everyone who earns less than $125,000 annually, along with an increase in the minimum wages rate and increased taxes on large corporations.

Donald Trump: He said that he will reduce the tax rate from 35% to 15% and as per him it should take care of all related problems. Which will increase the overall company profits and that in turn will result in more job creation (That’s it?). He also insisted on promoting free trade with other countries and won’t allow the available jobs to be taken by immigrants (Not again).

In the 10 minute open debate, Donald Trump marked Hillary’s plans as the most hilarious ones ever and said that she will double the tax rates eventually and that will not help people to survive in the country while Hillary tackled with saying that Trump’s tax recommendations will further increase the financial debt on the US government.

4. Fitness To be the next President of United States

Donald Trump: He openly refused all the allegations of sexual abuse and said that this is a strategy opted by the opposition as they are afraid of losing to him.

Hillary Clinton: She took everyone’s attention to the second debate where Donald Trump was found saying that the women are not that good to be sexually abused.

In the ten minutes open debate, Donald Trump said that he has the utmost respect for women and the hall actually erupted with laughter (we are not kidding). On the other hand, Hillary mentioned her agendas for women security, safety, equality and Clinton Foundation to which Trump had nothing to answer.

The Moderator also asked Hillary Clinton about the allegations over Clinton Foundation to fund her Campaign to which she replied that the allegations have been proven wrong and there is nothing left to talk about it (the one time that Hillary dodged a question). Mr. Trump ended the debate by calling the Clinton Foundation a criminal enterprise.

5. ISIS, Syria and Iraq

Hillary Clinton: She said that the main goal of the next President should be to back Mosul in eliminating ISIS from Syria. She stated that there is no need to send more American troops to Syria after the war is over, as she does not want the US Army to become an occupying force on the Syrian Grounds.

Donald Trump: His thoughts were exactly opposite to Hillary’s as he wants to take over Mosul after fighting the ISIS. He also concluded that the Iran Invasion was not necessary and once America took over, it was not a good decision to come back as this is the reason of ISIS creation.

In the open debate, Hillary accused Donald Trump of lying about the Iran Invasion as he also supported the decision in the past and the proof is available on ‘Google’. (this is a proof of how much the world depends on Google!). She also said that the Government should go for the ISIS leader as they did for Osama Bin Laden and the problem will automatically be solved. On the other hand, Trump said that America should engage in an all-out war with ISIS because Iran is on the verge of taking over Iraq and the US will not gain anything from it.

Now it’s time to declare the winner and it’s no other than Hillary Clinton according to various media and viewer polls. She has now registered the third consecutive win over Donald Trump and we can expect Hillary Clinton to become the next and the first lady President of the United States of America.
