In Past 3 Decade, Queen Elizabeth II Has Won $8.8 Million In Horse Racing

In the past three decades, Queen Elizabeth II has made over £6.7 million ($8.8m) from the horse racing prize money. These figures have been brought to the world by the British Horse Racing Authority show.

As per the research, reported by CNN, the Queen has till now seen some 451 victories out of the 2,815 runs that she has participated in, since 1988. This gives Queen Elizabeth II a winning percentage of 15.9 percent.

While this year, the Queen made a whopping £413,641 ($542,531) through her 20 victories, it was 2016 that has proven to be the most successful year for the Queen in the recent decades. Last year, the monarch made a total of £557,650 ($731,413), crazy, right?

With the results and reports of Queen Elizabeth II winning spree, the 91-year-old has been named the 11th most successful owner in flat racing in that thirty-year period.

The love for horses and horse racing is nothing new to the Queen, she has always been fascinated by the phenomenon. At the age of four, the Queen was given a Shetland pony which made her develop an interest in horses from an early age.

As time passed, the Queen even became an accomplished rider. She also often attended official ceremonies on horseback, back then. Following the death of her father, King George VI, in 1952, the Queen inherited several of her finest thoroughbreds. She was also named British flat racing champion in 1954 and 1957.

The Queen’s best runner this season is Dartmouth, trained by Sir Michael Stoute.
