On Monday, an earthquake measuring 5.5 on the Richter Scale woke up the people of Nepal at 5.05am at a depth of 10km. A unit of Ministry of Earth Sciences, National Centre for Seismology measured the epicenter on the border between Solukhumbu and Ramechhap.
It was 120 km east of Nepal’s capital, Kathmandu. The National Seismological Center recorded the intensity of the earthquake at 5.5. After April 2015, this was the 475th Tremor of magnitude 4 and above which shook the Himalayan country.
Although no casualties and damages are reported since the quake but since it was in the mountains with remote villages, the reports may differ later. The earthquake was also felt in some parts of Central Nepal, Eastern Nepal and Kathmandu.
After pre-dawn earthquake awoken the residents in Kathmandu, they fled from their houses.
Last year nearly 9,000 people were killed in Earthquakes and the country is still recovering from it.
