Ever Heard Of A Wildlife Bond? What’s World Bank’s Association With It?

Usually speaking, the term bond is associated with matters of money. It’s got real relevance to the field of investment and finance. ‘Buy an investment bond and secure your financial future.’ It’s one of those things, you know! The last thing anyone would ever believe is that it’s also got a link with the world of wildlife. Isn’t it? In fact, could there be such a thing as a wildlife bond? How would you react for instance if there was something like a paper suitcase or say, a car bank where you’d deposit and trade cars?

But believe it or not, there actually is such as thing as a wildlife bond. And using this wildlife bond you now stand a chance to rescue and save the embattled black rhino, a species whose population is rather dwindling.

As a matter of fact, using this wildlife bond, you can walk a good mile by saving the black rhino of South Africa, a critically endangered specie. The beating heart of this very noble initiative is the World Bank that’s actually raising funds for a brilliant and much-needed cause.

Now here’s why this news is reaching countless computer screens and has formed the basis of limitless tweets and blog posts. It turns out that where it turns out right now, there are no more than 5,630 surviving black rhinos in the world (according to 2018 numbers).

And it’s the very first occasion where the World Bank is actively raising funds for a wildlife cause as relevant as this. In what stands as the world’s first wildlife conservation bond, the attempt to save the black rhinos may actually go for sale sometime toward mid-2021.

Also, the wildlife bond is valid for 5 years with a security of USD $45 million.

The following is what a travel journal from South Africa had to report about this heartening development:

The novel project could expand to other species if this one is a success. Species such as the black rhino of Kenya, and gorillas, tigers, and more. The idea is to allow you to do a philanthropic deed while gaining a profit. All you have to do is invest in the project. Besides the aforementioned bond, it has also been reported that the World Bank will also sell a conversation bond of $100 million.

To conclude, if there was ever a time to invest in a very relevant cause then perhaps this is it. Look no further, invest immediately in the wildlife bond. Now we all can do our bit to safeguard the future of the Black Rhinos, much of whom wander in South Africa (almost eighty percent of the surviving population).
