Nigeria Witnesses Boko Haram Tyranny Again As Dozens Of Soldiers, Fleeing The Rogue Clan Rape Women

It’s almost the Al Qaeda of Africa and despite several alleged onslaughts against toppling its tyrannical regime, there still doesn’t seem to be any cohesive measure that can bring Boko Haram on its feet.

What on earth can you expect from a terrorist organisation other than indulging in vehement acts that lead to bloodshed of innocents and loss of public property?

But this is Boko Haram and committing heinous crimes are but a way of life for a violent organisation that killed, in 2017, 900 more people than it killed in 2016.

Among the most developed countries in all of Africa, even the Nigerian government has seemingly run out of ideas as to how it possibly can bring curtains to a dreaded outfit that treats women as objects meant for brazen attacks and children, another faecal matter to be cast aside.

But in a rather absurd string of events, it’s believed that as a result of fighting the ill-fated Boko Haram, reports from Africa state, Nigerian troops, who could no longer fight and fled the battlefields, have raped dozens of innocent young women. Nigerian troops had been filed to chase out a herd of Boko Haram terror elements and could no longer subjugate them. On account of days of fighting at a stretch- reports suggest- the soldiers engaged in the rather shocking action.

They are accused of separating the women from their husbands and raping them. Incidentally, at times the rapes occurred on account of an exchange of food and when not meals, then in return for shelter in the refugee camps. The accusations, it is believed, have come from one of the leading human rights organisations which is none other than Amnesty International. But when asked for a comment, the Nigerian Military was quick to label the accusation as mindless babble.

African Arguments

On the other hand, the Nigerian military is of the view that such vile accusations in fact, hurt the good work done by its ‘patriotic’ and ‘nation-loving’ soldiers. What a strange contradiction to the allegations levelled against them, isn’t it?

Here’s some indication as to how dangerous the conflict in Nigeria has become, ever since Boko Haram emerged into the fray:

As many as 1.8 million people have fled their homes, leaving behind everything- whether material wealth, property or whatever in lieu of the dangers of being assaulted or killed by the vile terror group.

So far, the conflict between Boko Haram and Nigerian Military has resulted in the deaths of as many as 30,000 people.

The conflict, back in 2015, however, experienced a sudden shift in the ongoing tide, seeing the military clawing back into action over Boko Haram, when some lost territories and lands were recaptured despite regressive attacks by the outfit.

But all that said, here’s what is most shocking and true with regards to the nature of events ever since Nigeria began being besieged by Boko Haram. Back in the day in 2016, leading Human Rights organisation- Human Rights Watch- had reported that 43 women accused officials of rape and exploitation in refugee camps in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state. Shortly after the release of the report, President Muhammadu Buhari mandated the local government to investigate the allegations. Ten officials were arrested in December 2016 but nothing happened after that.
