Israel’s recently-elected prime minister, the one who’s tipped to author a new era in Israeli politics, Naftali Bennett, 49-year-old Haifa-born appeared at the United Nations General Assembly and echoed a voice of concern over Iran’s nuclear program.
His observations, nothing that the world doesn’t know or has heard of. Before one can even delve into the realm of the right or wrong, the key observation being the following:
Iran is a renowned- not potential- threat with the nuclear program. Among the famous faces of the Yamina party, Naftali Bennett alluded to the fact that-and perhaps rightly so- that Iran has crossed all red lines with its nuclear program and that any more development in that realm will lead to disastrous consequences for the Jewish state.
To be precise, the following are the key excerpts on the bits on Iran delivered by Naftali Bennett during his first-ever appearance at the revered United Nations General Assembly:
While Israel strives to do good, we cannot lose sight for one moment of what’s happening in our neighbourhood.
Israel is, quite literally, surrounded by Hezbollah, Shia militias, Islamic Jihad, and Hamas. On our borders.
These terror groups seek to dominate the Middle East and spread radical Islam across the world.
What do they all have in common?
They all want to destroy my country. And they’re all backed by Iran. They get their funding from Iran, they get their training from Iran, and they get their weapons from Iran.
Iran’s great goal is crystal clear to anybody who cares to open their eyes: Iran seeks to dominate the region — and seeks to do so under a nuclear umbrella.
For the past three decades Iran has spread its carnage and destruction around the Middle East, country after country: Lebanon. Iraq. Syria. Yemen. And Gaza.
That being said, what Naftali Bennett may want to explain albeit with more plausibility than what according to him is afforded by Iran when each time the ‘terror state’ lashes out at Israel is the following:
1) How many innocents has Israel ended up taking the life of in its immediate and carefully-guided response to tackling Arab terror for all these years?
2) Were there any children involved in the retributions offered to Israel’s neighbours?
3) Is the Jewish state, also called the homeland for its people according to the country, sure that never in the past have children been used as Human Shields in what have reportedly been vengeful attacks on Palestine and other Arab neighbouring states?
4) What is happening actually in the Dimona and across the Negev and if all’s fine then why are Western journalists writing stories that respectfully and courteously ask Israel to come clean on its own nuclear ambitions?
The above told, when is Naftali Bennett planning to hold a transparent meet and if possible, state-sponsored visit at the Israeli nuclear sites for the world’s powers, most noticeably in the West, to see if the Jewish state is not developing warheads and only using nuclear power for ‘research purposes.’
Disclaimer: the author doesn’t wish to wax lyrical on what is already a sensitive subject matter, understanding well the consequences of what it means to anger Israel and at the same time, throw support toward the Jewish cause, however just and fair it actually is. Additionally, the author wishes to state, as does RapidLeaks, it’s intention to remain neutral on the subject of Israel versus Arab neighbours and vice-versa. Yet, it’s important to state in no uncertain terms that all accusations must be sufficiently backed by evidence that also absolves the accuser from anything suspicious or malicious. Respect to both sides of the narrative in one of the most beautiful parts of the world that is the Middle East: Israel and Iran.
