The common saying regarding South Africa is that you can take South Africans out of South Africa but not the other way round.

This is a rainbow nation, a land of Africans, travellers, dreamers, founders, doers and the ambitious and daring ones!

It’s an enchanting land. There’s never a dull day here in South Africa. It might be facing a bit of an economic hassle at the moment, but it can be said, that the tourism industry is thriving, without a doubt.

It boasts of culture made of possibly all unique attributes that make a country what it is, at the end of the day, such as an equal, fair, just, and secular society. On top of it, this is a truly cosmopolitan land- is it not?

The quintessential home to Nelson Mandela, as also a bevy of incredible wildlife in the whole wide world, and above all- a destination renowned for diamond trading, South Africa offers a lot to a lot many.

Implicit in the DNA of the South Africans is their will and zeal to travel. And especially for those who are bitten by the travel bug the following piece of news may come across as a blessing.

Apparently, South Africans can now visit as many as 99 countries, that too without a visa. That said, here are some important destinations- split according to continents- where the South Africans can now travel without ever needing a visa:

Europe: Ireland, Kosovo, Russian Federation

Africa: Gabon, Gambia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mauritiana, Mauritius, Malawi, Swaziland, Madagascar, Ethiopia, Kenya, Lesotho

Asia: Malaysia, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Timor, Laos, Macao, Hong Kong

Caribbean: Barbados, Bahamas, Cayman Islands, St. Lucia, St. Vincent, Grenada, Haiti

Americas: Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Peru, Uruguay, El Salvador, Ecuador, Paraguay.

The above told, one reckons, it’s not exactly a bad idea to be a South African- isn’t it? So, our dear South Africans, have you got your bags packed and are you ready to visit nearly a third of the world minus a visa?
