Meryl Streep is one of the most celebrated actresses in Hollywood. She has given some of the most amazing performances in her career as an exceptionally good actor and singer. Anyone and everyone loves and treasures Streep’s candid behaviour and her art of recreating and creating some of the most appreciated characters.
Streep has received numerous awards and nominations for her work which she has accepted with grace and charmingly. This year at Golden Globes was no different where she received Cecil B. DeMille Award (lifetime achievement award), however, she chose to go on a different path with her acceptance speech. Rather than focusing on her life and career, she decided to talk about the new President-elect Donald Trump and his policies.
She talked about how Hollywood is a land of people from outside and foreign lands, which should be maintained like this. She also took her stance on protecting the freedom of the press in America which the new President is not very fond of.
In the end, she quoted her dear friend, Late Carrie Fisher and said: “Take your broken heart, make it into art”.
A tribute video was also made for Meryl Streep that had snippets from her career and work. One can almost see the amount of hard work this woman puts into her acting and how she completely transforms herself for the role she does.
