Men And Women Are Sharing Their Relationship Abuse Stories

Somehow, hitting someone is always considered to be the highest order of abuse, something that tops it all, something that pushes you to look for a way out. Many don’t even consider an abuse, an abuse until someone has been hit in it. However, it’s not the case.

There’s nothing more torturous or frustrating than being mentally and emotionally abused by a person you love the most. However, it almost seems that our society can’t come to terms with it. This is the very reason why millions of people can’t even propel what’s happening to them. They’re disturbed, yet are told to constantly try in order to make things better, because somehow, we’re teaching men and women some really wrong definitions of love and care.

Abuse – physical or mental – is not something that only a woman goes through, something that has been happening for a long time now. There are millions of men out there who also go through some or the other kind of abuse while being in a relationship. However, no one believes them because exactly how can it happen and even if it happened, how can a man simply sit and take that all in?

There are so many things and hardships that come with being a man, toxic masculinity for one. Our society is not at all ready to throw the garb of toxic masculinity away, even though it’s 2018 now and no one has time to sit and talk about how great it’s to not feel anything at all.

Which is why, after the success of #MeToo, even men are coming out with their horrific mental abuse stories under #MaybeSheDoesntHitYou. Women too are sharing their abuse stories with #MaybeHeDoesntHitYou.

These abuse stories are not only horrific and hard to digest, but also stand true to the fact that abuse doesn’t always equate to hitting and it has no gender.
