This New Year’s Eve, Hong Kong Shall Witness A Memorable Spectacle

The New Year’s eve is, for all intents and purposes, a special celebration around the world signalling the end to an year-full of hard-work, toil, some well-earned successes and, bringing about a great deal of hope and optimism for what’s in store in the approaching year, that lingers in the nearabouts.

All over the world, parties, flash mobs, gatherings, shopping sprees and, revelry marking celebrations with near and dear ones signal an auspicious and happy adieu to the current year. But for Hong Kong, one of Asia’s most promising economies, it means a different kind of spectacle altogether.

Each year, it has been some sort of a tradition where the past is concerned, Hong Kong’s denizens keenly gather at the picturesque Victoria Harbour to embrace the new year but not without a special, checkered celebration. The illustrious fireworks mark an imposing celebration amidst cheery fanfare for hundreds and thousands of Hong Kong’s locals who await to herald into the new year with a one of a kind ceremony.

This year though, there’s something even more special where Hong Kong’s noted fireworks at the famous Victoria Harbour are concerned. The tourism board has reported that one can expect more complex fireworks on the evening of 31st December, 2017 in what will be a spell-binding show of musical fireworks at Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour.

New Years Eve Fireworks

It is being said that the musical fireworks will have their display area widened by approximately 35 per cent to 1.1 km along the harbour front. But wait! That’s not all. For this time, it will be a 10-minute show; an all-encompassing gala celebration witnessing glittery sparkle in the night skies over a Hong Kong enveloped by a layer of optimism and charm.

Hong Kong Travel Guide

A first time pyrotechnics would be used to engage audiences and shall have the touch of a European firework maker. But the celebrations will witness a beautiful melange of starry fireworks coupled with a musical piece or soundtrack specifically created for the evening spectacle by local Chinese musician Chiu Tsang- hei. So what one may expect from this new year’s eve could be a much bigger, better and brighter show in the heart of one of Asia’s most admired cities.
