The data on those who’ve already received vaccination back in Paris reads something like this-
As of March 27, 2021– those with one dose injected stand at 77,42, 466 while those with two doses injected against the Coronavirus stand at 265,1777.
So far, with well over a year since the global Coronavirus pandemic enforced a nation-wide lockdown, France has seen as many as 96, 650 deaths in the country while the overall number of cases have been no fewer than 4.82 million.
And now the medics in Paris are altering the wider public about a scenario that may not lessen anyone’s anxiety. They are of the view that the worst form of COVID wave is yet to come.
Now this view could be, in fact, startling given the fact that as a country France has already suffered a lot. By no stretch of the imagination is a tally extending 4.8 million cases appears small. And then, this news that the overall number of infections in Paris may only increase in the times to come only increases fears and worries about the ‘what-might!’
But that said, here’s what the French Health Minister Olivier Veran stated recently- he predicted that the infections in the country will peak around mid of April. But was that all; was there anything else that the French minister suggested that might be of concern?
It must be duly noted that he was also of the view that with the coming of the new cases along the lines of the thought that the same will peak, the number of hospital admissions will also be climbing in the times to come.
In no uncertain terms can this be stated that it could very well be that the times in the imminent future of the country could well be laced with trouble.

The concern that currently stares Paris in the eye is that the country is currently evidencing a third wave of the new COVID cases and this only means that there could be yet more strain on the saturated hospitals especially when compared to the first wave (of the COVID 19 infection) during March and April last year.
That being said, here is what the noted publication Live Mint had to offer on the current situation in the city of Paris:
“With what’s coming in April, it’s going to be very complicated,” says Pinto, a mother of three who hasn’t had a holiday since last summer and like other staff will be cancelling a planned break this month.
Even with a new round of restrictions coming into force this week, Health Minister Olivier Veran predicts that infections in France will peak only in mid-April, while hospital admissions will continue climbing until the end of the month.
All of that being said, it can be certainly said that one of the most loved cities of the world, a city that’s renowned as the city of love could still be in lines with courting one of the worst forms of viruses known to mankind in its recent history.

When will things be normal again in Paris as also in the rest of the country, one wonders?
Normality, after all, is a term that Paris so desperately seeks, a feeling it would really be glad to make love to!
