Are you aware of the Chinese products banned in India and the items India imports?

It isn’t uncommon to note economic ties between two countries soaring their bi-lateral relations further. For relations to prosper, a lot depends or rests on the cordiality and normalcy of relations between nations.

The greater the economic ties, the better the relations between two nations. The said, even the reverse or vice-versa is true.

Here’s an example that perhaps illustrates the importance of strong economic ties serving as a barometer for measuring relations between two countries.

The trade cooperation between India and Germany successfully led to an increase in the footfalls of Indian students in German engineering colleges. At the same time, the continued co-operation between the two nations has seen a rise in the German firms increasing their presence in India. To elaborate further, over the course of the past few years, a lot many German firms have increased their presence in India.

No more are German firms- when it comes to their presence in India- merely restricted or attributed to the automobile or automotive industries alone.

But that said, it’s not necessary that many other countries would have cordial relations of the kinds that nations like Germany, France, the United States, Israel or a South Korea would have with India.

After all, it takes all kinds to make the world, doesn’t it? In a similar vein of thought, in the realm of geopolitical affairs, it’s not necessary that the two countries would only have or enjoy smooth relations and terms.

In the frequently-changing undercurrents of the geopolitical sphere, where things change quickly, akin to the speed of light, a country with whom India hasn’t had the best of relations as such is China.

The Oriental wonderland, a massive Asian economy and ultimately, an economic powerhouse may not be utterly excellent when it comes to maintaining peaceful ties with its neighbours. But China, after all, is a country where just about anything is possible. And that said, at the same time as it continues to up the surge of its global dominance, it already lagging behind (or following) the US economy closely, there’s a lot at stake where China’s neighbourhood is concerned.

You got that right. Truth be told, for quite some time now, there’s been a total ban of cross-country ties related to the economic sphere between India and China. Now, having read that, one might ask- What is the current status of the economic ties between China and India, among its neighbour?

In an interesting perspective, it also beckons to be seen whether the ban imposed on some central or mainstream products has led to the worsening of the economic ties between two?

Did you know, for instance, that, there happen to be some products that no longer stand legally in the eyes of the law, as far as the trade between India and China stands?

You may be aware that the government has put an absolute restriction to some Chinese products that are no longer imported by India? Since 2016, there happen to be some products that aren’t imported any longer as what one saw in the distant past.

Among the many countries in the world, India happens to be a huge importer in its own right.

To that end, a decision was made by the government in 2018 upon bringing about an absolute ban of certain Chinese products imported from further East.

Toward the beginning of April 2018, an important report published in the mainstream media carried a pertinent list of Chinese products banned in India.

Here’s taking a quick look at them.

1. Electronic items

For starters, an innumerable quantity of electronic items, that are worldly sought-after, regardless of being a pertinent contributor to the trade between these two countries have been put to a halt.

This means, that no longer does India import Chinese electronic goods, through legal route, a lot many of which concern an average Indian household. They have been banned. And that is how it goes where tense geopolitical conditions and strenuous ties between two nations stand.

2. Mobile phones

There also happen to be some specific mobile phone items that were hitherto shipped directly from China that have now been completely banned.

The halt of import is in the ebb of certain mobile phones, perhaps of spurious quality that is no longer a part of the list of items that are imported from China.

3. Milk and Milk-based products

Another important article that has been utterly banned between India and China as a product of import is milk and milk-based products. From the perspective of a country where milk, they said, used to once flow in the rivers, it’s rather surprising that India did import milk in a certain quantity from China.

A bit of a surprising fact that, isn’t it?

4. Steel-related products

There also happen to be some steel-related products that India used to import in aplenty from China. But this is no longer considered moral and ethical where laws stand. And involving China in imports of these articles stands contrary to the ruling of the Govt according to the latest ruling.

The import of the same, therefore, has been banned. And where the facts stand, no steel or steel-related products have been imported from China, ever since 2016, that’s two full years into the past from the present.

In case, there are any other relevant examples, feel free to express in the comment section, just below the text article.
