Another Success Story Of A ‘Chai Walli’, From A Chai-Lover To Businesswoman Of The Year

India as a country has some special kind of love for ‘Chai’ and ‘Chai Wallas’, look at our Prime Minister. Wait, look at that recent viral case of a ‘Chaiwalla’ turned model because of his handsomeness, which was widely celebrated on the Internet, in Pakistan as well as in India. Cut-short, we love our ‘Chaiwallas’ and their success stories, one such case has again emerged from the Indian grounds, however, this time our ‘Chai Walli’ is loved by the Australians.

Uppma Virdi, a 26-year-old Indian-Australian lawyer, followed her love for ‘Chai’ and recreating the same for many. She is now, Businesswoman of the year by the Indian Australian Business And Community Awards (IABCA). Virdi is the founder of a very successful and massive tea retail business – ‘Chai Walli’. Her business has turned her into a renowned business and community leader.

Her love for ‘Chai’ grew from her childhood days due to her grandfather who was a doctor specialised in herbs and spices. He taught her the art of Ayurvedic tea and its great benefits. She is now on the journey of sharing Indian and India’s love for ‘Chai’, with the world.

Virdi started this venture with selling her tea in the market herself and delivering it to the offices. After this, she started wholesaling to local stores by running her business from an online store. Apart this, she also takes classes of ‘The Art Of Chai’, where she teaches people about the tea making and its importance.

Uppma is still working as a lawyer while simultaneously handling her venture, as she is not yet ready to take such a risky leap. However, she definitely is an inspiration to women entrepreneurs all over the world, who love something and want to make a business out of it.
