Watch: Safe Sex Is Not Just About Contraceptives, It’s Also Related To Your Phones

Sex is something that India as a country doesn’t like to converse about. We all definitely love sex, just look at our population, however, we don’t like to talk about it. So, anything and everything that one gets to learn about sex is somehow, through the means of the Internet or through some really close friends.

Safe sex is another topic that no one wants to be a part of. Which is why it’s often restricted to the realms of contraceptives. Yes, they’re great. Contraceptives help one in dodging unwanted pregnancies, plus, a whole lot of potential STDs that one can carry with themselves.

However, safe sex is more than just condoms and pills, it’s also about how you decide to live your intimate moments.

Manforce Condoms released a public service awareness campaign in which they’re highlighting the message of having safe sex and not film any private moments on phone. Titled Shut The Phones, this 3 minutes and 37 seconds campaign shows a newly married couple who struggle to find their phone which is not password protected and has a video of their intimate moments.

As per the India Today Sex Survey, 1 out of 5 couples admit having filmed their moments of intimacy on their smartphones. This makes them vulnerable to voyeurism and illegal pornography. It has also resulted in suicide, blackmail, and divorces due to the leakage of tapes.

Rajeev Juneja, CEO, Mankind Pharma said to Social Samosa, that “Manforce being a leading brand in the category has a larger responsibility in addressing relevant issues related to safe sex. This campaign brings to light the sensitive yet important issue of more and more couples filming their moments of intimacy. We found the time is right to educate couples on the seriousness of the problem”.

This is a smart move by Manforce Condoms who were earlier struggling with all the Achaari flavoured condom controversies, surrounding them.
