Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev shocked the world through his ‘maverick’ performance and went ahead for a one-on-one bout with 2008 Olympic Silver medalist, Andrey Stadnik, in promotional friendly for the 2017 Pro Wrestling League.
Be it playing charity football with celebrities almost double his size or this ‘Dangal’ with an International wrestler, Baba Ramdev has now done it all sporting his typical ‘langot’. Interestingly, Andrey Stadnik defeated Sushil Kumar in the 2008 Beijing Games and went on to play the finals.
When we first heard the news of Baba Ramdev’s challenge to Stadnik for a friendly, we just couldn’t believe our senses but surprisingly, it was the Olympic Silver medalist who came out as a worried man.
Before the match, the celebrity Yoga Guru seemed more than confident and said “I have fought bouts with national-level wrestlers. But playing against an internationally renowned player will be more exciting. You will witness the real power of yoga in this match”.
Ramdev showed his wrestling acumen by pulling out some of the best technical moves like a take-down, one-leg hold and a pinning down move.

One can clearly see that the bout being a promotional event, Stadnik allowed Ramdev to have his way, so did the referees and nearly after two minutes, Stadnik surrendered.
In the end, Andrey Stadnik was not able to register a single point and Baba Ramdev came out as a clear winner with the tally reflecting 12-0 in his favour. Yes you heard it right!! However, Patanjali Ayurved Limited is sponsoring the 2017 Pro Wrestling League and Stadnik didn’t have much of a choice in this regard.
Meanwhile, there hasn’t been a single bout that has generated more interest than the ‘Dangal’ between Baba Ramdev and Olympic Silver medalist, and if this wasn’t a hoax, the match has left us with major health goals!!
