Ishq Di Baajiyaan From Soorma Is A Beautiful Love Ballad With Gulzar’s Words And Diljit’s Voice

Soorma is one of the most anticipated releases of 2018 and one of the biggest reasons behind it is Diljit Dosanjh and his fans wish to finally sing for a Bollywood movie (one in which he actually stars). Especially a romantic number, which will also be picturised on him. And, with Ishq Di Baajiyaan that wish of his fans has finally come through.

The makers of Soorma released the first track from the movie and it’s a romantic number that shows the brewing love story between Diljit and Taapsee Pannu’s character in the movie. As well as, a love-hate-fight story between Diljit and his coach. Ishq Di Baajiyaan is picturised on different hardships his character faces at the start of his hockey learning journey.

There are various cute moments in the song between Diljit and Tapsee, and equally disheartening moments from Diljit’s transformational journey. But it ends on a happy note with a beautiful chorus.

There are some of the most legendary people associated with the making of this song. The lyrics have been penned by Gulzar, whereas, the music has been given by musical trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy. An added bonus to it all is Diljit Dosanjh who has lend his voice for this romantic number from the movie. a

Diljit is a huge Gulzar fan and has always wished for working with him. “I am really thankful to Shaad Ali for this opportunity to sing in this film. I recently did a show with Shankar ji and I heard many songs that he had composed in the past. Meeting Gulzar sahab through this film was a great thing for me because I never had any contacts to get through to him. To sing a song which is written by Gulzar and music of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is a big thing for me,” he said.

Soorma is a sports drama and based on the life story of Indian hockey player and former captain Sandeep Singh, famously known as Flicker Singh. Written and directed by Shaad Ali, Soorma is all set to release on July 13th, 2018.
