He is the leading political luminary of the country, a country that boasts of one of the largest democracies on the face of the earth. And he is also the man who often finds himself in the centre of the storm. If ever there was a polarising figure in the modern history of Indian polity then probably it’s him. Revered for his ambitious plans to take India ahead on the path of progress and often reviled for measures that pique the interest of critics who feel the interest of several communities in India aren’t exactly a part of his all-inclusive agenda, there’s never a normal day in the life of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Of late, he’s been facing quite a few verbal blows for the sheer inability of his political party toward rescuing an embattled India, a country that’s, over the course, of past several weeks faced the scorn of COVID’s new wave.
Everywhere you see, a common debate’s been raging- can the BJP handle the hammering COVID crisis better? As a matter of fact, is there incisive thought leadership in order to get a grip over a COVID situation that’s seemingly becoming unmanageable?
That being told, here’s what many of you might reckon to be a shocker.
As it turns out, it is believed that the RSS- the prime ideological fountain of the ruling party of India (BJP) is upset with PM Modi over the way he’s handled the COVID crisis.
Now, here’s the key question- just why is the RSS upset with PM Modi, and for what specific reason?
Reports suggest that the noted Hindu nationalist think-tank is not at all satisfied with the way the COVID crisis in India is being handled by the BJP supremo. The RSS has termed the current crisis nearly ‘indefensible,’ and that not enough is being done by a party in whose hands rests enormous power to change things is the reason for Modi earning the ire of his backers.
That being said, here’s what an RSS functionary had to say on the entire matter: “It will not help anyone, things should come under control first. We are helping out in every way we can. But there is no way anyone can defend this type of a situation.”
Furthermore, here’s what a report published on The Tribune India had to add on the ensuing situation:
Notably, earlier this year, Sangh’s highest decision-making body, the Akhil Bharatiya Pratinidhi Sabha (ABPS), had passed a unanimous resolution praising several initiatives of the Narendra Modi government such as the Vande Bharat Mission, Vaccine Maitri campaign, Shramik special trains and the ongoing Covid vaccination drive, besides hailing the society for the resilient fight it put up to combat the dreaded virus
Last year, Dattatreya Hosabale, the current General Secretary of the Sangh, had praised Prime Minister Modi for “his timely intervention in containing Covid-19” and steps in dealing with the unprecedented situation.

Moving on, the true mark of any leadership is how firmly it can stand in the face of overwhelming odds. The rancour that’s been directed toward the BJP, of late, it could be said, is that while it was vigorously putting all its energy toward the campaigning in the state of West Bengal, there’s hardly been a sign of that impetus being given to a matter that’s of grave concern to the country at this moment of crisis. But will things change and shall we get to see able leadership in the days ahead?
Only PM Modi can answer!
