Positive News Of The Day: Olympic Star Shooter Joins Ukraine Forces Vs Russia!

We have all come to know that few things in life are as calamitous as wars. They create damning strifes truth be told, which is true for both sides- the side of the aggressor as well as the one who endures. Wars lead to life-crushing mishaps that makes it very difficult for one to return to a state of normalcy.

Just come to think of it and you will realise that the tragedy and mishaps suffered by someone during the time of war is akin to someone desperately trying to return to a state of normalisation having just faced a paralysis of sorts.

And that being said, the usage of the phrase war in the contemporary state of affairs takes us nowhere else but to the wartorn battlefields of Ukraine and Russia, with the former suffering the ire and bloodied brunt of an aggressor one would simply not like to face: Russia!

If anyone desired understanding the extent of damage that the ongoing Ukraine-Russian war has caused then perhaps it makes sense to understand that no fewer than 3 million from Ukraine have left (already) for Switzerland. Take into consideration, we are only talking about a single country and not more.

But while there could be nothing possibly rosy or forward looking about the current situation being endured by Ukraine, it also helps to know that many from the public sphere of life in the country have stepped in when it’s most mattered.

Back in the day when the war was reaching its peak, one got to hear several instances about famous personalities from different walks of life joining the troops in Ukraine to take the fight to Russia. And among the latest well-known figures to have done exactly that is none other than Kristina Dmitrenko.

Not a superstar in the movie industry. Not a supermodel either; Kristina Dmitrenko, the latest to support the Ukraine troops in their fight-for-survival against Russia is a former Olympic athlete. As a matter of fact, she is someone who even has to her name an Olympic gold (secured in the Biathlon in the 2016 Youth Olympic Games).

All of the above told, here’s what a latest news report published on the NDTV had to say:

According to Newsweek, Ms Dmitrenko was due to go to Switzerland on February 27 and then to Italy to compete but her sporting career paled into insignificance as she was faced with images of war in Kyiv and Chernihiv. This is when the biathlete decided to join the National Guard of Ukraine where she qualified to take up arms against her nation’s invaders.

“I never in my life could have thought that everything would be like this,” Ms Dmitrenko said according to a translation of a post on the Ukrainian interior ministry’s Facebook page. The 22-year-old, however, went on to add that she has “no fear of the enemy”.

“I shoot well so the invaders will not have a chance,” Ms Dmitrenko said. She also went on to insist that she would not be fazed by swapping a biathlon rifle for a machine gun. “Whatever weapon I have in my hands, whether I am in competition or in the military, I will stand until the end,” she said in the post, adding, “victory will definitely be ours.”
