If you have been living under a rock and are not quite aware of the misery of re-examinations imposed on class 10th and 12th students, then the world and Indian education board might still be fine for you.
Yesterday afternoon, CBSE announced that the class 10th and 12th students would have to go for re-examination for their Maths and Economics exams, respectively. This comes in the wake of rumors of leaks doing the rounds. The official notice issued by the Central Board of Secondary Education states, “With the view to uphold the sanctity of the board examinations and in the interest of the fairness to the students, the board has decided to re-conduct the examinations.”
Something like this has never ever happened in the history of class 10th and 12th board exams in the country, which is why almost everyone has their viewpoint on the decision. While there have been leaks in the past, but students have never been asked to appear again for the exam.
While some were furious because they would have to go through the agony of appearing again for an exam, others don’t mind the move and actually, consider it to be fair for everyone. However, there’s one emotion that everyone carries with them on this issue and that is, how could CBSE be so callous?
Some students have started petitions against the decision due to various reasons, some are even planning to organise a march.

In the recent developments on the case, Delhi Police has found out that the leak might have been carried out by a coaching center in Rajinder Nagar, New Delhi. ANI reported, “CBSE in a complaint to Delhi Police says it received a fax on March 23 naming a person from Rajinder Nagar behind CBSE paper leak. This person, as per the complaint, runs a coaching institute.”
The dates of re-examinations have not yet been announced by the board, while the students are left in utter confusion.
