The arctic Lapland does have its own cherubic charms and is filled with a wonderment of exciting things to do, purely from a touristic point of view. There’s never really a dull moment in the country that personifies the spirit of the Finnish Sisu! Finland exudes a dash of flair and style like few other countries in Europe do, except much of it is typically understated, and perhaps that’s what is typical of Finland. Great things that don’t necessarily carry a great deal of hullabaloo about them!
The land that was once the den of the Vikings today has some really captivating sights, whether one speaks of the capital city of the Helsinki area, the Lapland, the Archipelago or the Lakeland.
And truth be told, today the country described as the land of thousands of lakes is typically featuring on top of one’s most-vaunted travel destinations, despite these still very much being the days of the COVID 19 pandemic.
Though, there’s, beyond the scope of doubt, a very relevant reason for it.
So this brings us to the question- why must you visit Finland in this COVID-riddled era?
But before we delve deep into what makes Finland such a hot tourist destination at the moment, it’s important to note that travelers from the United Kingdom have taken to a liking to the famous Nordic nation.
Though, there’s a reason for it, the same that applies to visitors from anywhere in the world for as long as they have taken care of one key requirement.
So what’s that?
Well, for as long as you are someone who’s taken both jabs of the vaccine and have been properly inoculated, then Finland is yours to travel. A country that’s making sure that tourists that enter the country are safe and sound and do not bring any iota of trouble to the locals whatsoever, so that everything, at the end of the day, is smooth.
An article published on the United Kingdom’s famous Standard newspaper had the following excerpts that convey the idea why Finland especially at this point in time?
Here’s what one would want to note:
Finland is on the UK’s amber list meaning double-jabbed UK citizens can visit without quarantine and do not have to self-isolate on their return but do need to take two PCR test when they are back home.
Kristiina Hietasaari, Director of Visit Finland, said: “ We look forward to welcoming UK travellers back to explore our 188,000 lakes, the forest which covers more than 70% of our land and of course cities such as our capital Helsinki, renowned for its artistic and cultural offerings as well as its vibrant and innovative culinary scene.
Furthermore, if there’s someone who happens to be a new arrival in the country, carrying a certificate that says that you’ve (or he or she has) recovered from the virus, within six months of arriving also does not need to undergo mandatory testing.
So what plans then of getting away from the COVID-riddled atmosphere in your home country? Why not head to Finland for as long as you have taken care of the aforementioned requirements? There’s more to Finland than meets the eye, somethings go beyond the realm of Sauna and Fishing.
