The Eye of Binhai: This Library In China Is The Most Beautiful Library In The World With 1.2 Million Books

A library is one of the best places for every bookworm out there. After all, it has everything that can even remotely astound you, from the musty sweet smell of the books to fellow book lovers, everything is available right here.

Plus, there are more than thousands of books that one can indulge in while enjoying the silence contributed by many others in the library, who are equally invested in the art of reading quality pieces. There are various libraries out there who are known and celebrated for their architecture, grandness and obviously, their collection, one of such libraries is The Eye of Binhai Library in China.

This marvelous piece of architecture covers an area of 33,700 square meters and houses more than 1.2 million books. Yes, it’s that big and that wonderful.

Named, “The Eye of Binhai”. This library in China is the creation of MVRDV, a Netherlands based architecture, and urban design practice, and it’s created in a collaboration with Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute (TUPDI).

This five-story building is located in the Binhai Cultural District in Tianjin and was completed in less than three years. Along with a reading area, there’s a lounge, meeting places, computer room, and an audio room, in here.

As great as this Eye of Binhai library in China is, it’s not the first considerable piece of architecture by MVRDV. Prior to this, they’ve created a giant scaffold staircase Rotterdam city centre.

And, also a market hall in Rotterdam.
