Today’s Raj Palace Hotel is the former home of the Maharajah. It is endowed with sheer grandeur like gilded and silvered furnishings, mirrored walls, powerful chandeliers and precious rugs. Guests enter the four-floor suite, which has a private elevator, via a private entrance through the Victory Corridor. In a total area of 1486 m² there are “only” four bedrooms, a Jacuzzi and a large swimming pool.

On the first floor there is a private lounge with bar and a guest storage room. The second floor, where the ruler once lived, overlooks the courtyards and the Charbagh Gardens. The third floor houses a library, additional bedrooms and a spacious dining room connected to a kitchen. The rooftop terrace on the fourth floor offers panoramic views of the entire city of Jaipur.

The five-star The Mark Hotel is located on Madison Avenue 77th Street, on the fashionable Upper East Side. Actually, the Penthouse should have been sold for about 60 million US dollars, but there was no buyer.

Now the “The Mark Penthouse” is rented out to wealthy guests. The superlative suite is currently the world’s most expensive hotel suite and the largest suite in the US. Despite the high price, the suite is always booked months in advance.

The Mark Penthouse is spread over two floors on 1100 m² and has five bedrooms, five open fireplaces and six bathrooms, one with a separate steam room. The approximately 230 m² roof terrace offers a breathtaking view over Manhattan. There is also a conservatory, a library and a nearly eight-meter-high copper-domed living room that can be converted into a ballroom. The entire suite was designed by the French interior designer Jacques Grange. His typical trademark is the black and white striped floors. On request, the in-house three-star chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten cooks in the kitchen of the suite. Up to 24 guests can be seated at the large table in the dining room.

Close to the hotel are Central Park, the famous 5th Avenue, the Guggenheim Museum and the Metropolitan Opera.
