We have already given you reasons on why every woman should travel solo once. But now we want to inspire you, and we are going to do it with the help of entertainment, i.e. movies.
These are some of the movies that would spark your wanderlust and will inspire you to go on a remarkable journey of travelling alone or with someone close to you. Explore yourself, inspire yourself and definitely find yourself in the journey of discovering the unknown lands of this world. All these women in this list of movies will teach you one thing and it is that it’s never too late to fight the odds of this society as well as, there’s no problem that an aeroplane ticket can’t solve.

It is based on the best-selling novel, with the same name, where a woman (Julia Roberts) takes a year off and travels to 3 countries in order to find herself. These places include Italy, Bali and, yours truly, India.
Starring: Scarlett Johansson
A photographer’s wife forms an unlikely relation with many while staying in Tokyo. It is down-to-earth with very relatable characters, that makes you fall in love with them.
Starring: Diane Lane
A struggling writer has been divorced by her husband which makes her take an abrupt decision of buying a villa in Tuscany, to sort her chaotic life. It is a lighthearted drama which everyone should see in order to realise the beauty of Tuscany.
Starring: Kangana Ranaut
After her marriage gets cancelled, Rani (Kangana Ranaut) goes on her honeymoon alone to feel more liberated in her life. This trip changes her completely as a person as well as, makes her come out of the shelf.
Starring: Reese Witherspoon
The movie is based on a woman’s solo hike 1,100 miles in order to recover from a personal tragedy. The movie revolves around a very deep and insightful idea of how someone can be destroyed by the pain to such a point where he/she can ultimately lose himself.
Starring: Geena Davis & Susan Sarandon
It is a classic road trip movie of two women who left their life in Arkansas and the men in it too. They don’t want to be under someone’s command or pressure anymore. This movie makes you feel warm but also leaves a ‘bitter-sweet’ taste in your mouth at the end of it.
These movies very well portray the concept of travelling alone, which they were made to do and this thing alone makes them a must watch. So make some popcorn as well as get in your comfortable pyjama for a movie night.
