Nokia Corp is planning to shake the smartphone industry with its comeback and the company is leaving no stone unturned to make everyone listen the holler. Officials have confirmed a launch in 2017 and we have already reported about all the rumors of D1C that are doing the rounds of social media and the smartphone has some promising features for Nokia’s promising comeback.
However, Nokia is also eyeing the premium smartphone segment and is rumored to launch Nokia P1 with snapdragon 835 processor and a 23 MP camera. The smartphone is also rumored to boast 6GB RAM and a 5.5-inch screen with 2K (QHD) display.
It may support Carl Zeiss Lens just like the cameras of yesteryear Nokia smartphones. If that is the case then the 23 MP rear camera will haunt its competitors to death. Nokia P1 is expected to run on Android Nougat 7.0 out of the box and may feature a metal body with waterproof capabilities.
Considering the specifications, Nokia P1 will lock horns with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8 and Apple’s iPhone as both premium smartphones will be launched at the same time. However, there has been no confirmation from Nokia and we advise to consider these leaks as a tip-off due to Nokia’s decency to spice things up before the launch.
Another Snapdragon 835 powered smartphone Nokia C1 is also expected to be launched in the first half of 2017 but will come with a 4GB RAM. 16/12MP dual rear cameras are also on the cards with a 3210 mAh battery and 32/64/128GB storage options.
Adding D1C to the arsenal, we expect MWC 2017, that kicks off on 27 February 2017 in Barcelona, to be an event worth remembering because Nokia seems to unearth its competitors.
With emergence of the smartphone business, Nokia and Motorola took a backseat, giving the likes of Apple, Samsung, Redmi and Lenovo a chance to establish themselves in the both the budget and premium smartphone category. However, Motorola played safe and relaunched its product in the online market. It took some time but sales charts started reflecting everything in the favor of company.
Now, it’s Nokia’s turn to claim the ‘most dependable’ smartphone tag and after their confirmation about launching at least three smartphones at MWC 2017, you can soon expect to see a Nokia in the hands of every third Indian again.
