Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 has been subjected to numerous leaks since the last couple of months and Man, the leaks have just left us drooling over its launch. 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a newly built SoC and what not. The rumored specifications are so mesmerizing for smartphone enthusiasts like us that even a flagship device like Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge would feel inferior against the Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2, when it comes to value for every buck.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro was a China exclusive smartphone and Indian market was never able to witness its supreme specifications like a dual camera, never ending battery and hardware worth going to a fight with.
However, recent leaks have suggested that India being the only market where Xiaomi leads the sales chart, the Chinese manufacturer is not going to take any risk and next month, the country may see the inevitable debut of the series.
Rumors also has it that Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 will be launched before the next flagship, Mi 6, as a teaser of the newly developed smartphone lineup and while the former will lead the campaign at the front, it will also help the company to establish itself once again in China, where companies like Oppo and Honor have dethroned Xiaomi.
In comparison, Redmi Pro features a 5.5-inch full HD OLED display, 3GB/32GB storage variant running on a MediaTek Helio X20 deca-core processor. There are two other variants featuring a MediaTek Helio X25 deca-core processor, paired with Mali-T880 GPU. These two variants come with 3GB/64GB storage and 4GB RAM/128GB storage options.
On the camera front, the Redmi Pro features a dual-camera setup with 13MP and 5MP depth-sensing shooters. Up front, the smartphone houses a 5MP wide-angle shooter for selfies. The Redmi Pro runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow out-of-the-box paired under MIUI 8. The smartphone is powered by a humongous 4,050mAh battery along with USB Type-C port for connectivity.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is undoubtedly the best yet-to-be-launched mid-budget smartphones and if the company decides to debut this series alongside Mi Mix 2 and Mi 6 in India, there is no stopping Xiaomi as some of the mid-budget Samsung users may also shift their base to Xiaomi.
According to rumors, the 4GB RAM/ 64GB variant of the Redmi Pro 2 will come with a price tag of RMB 1,599 (Rs 15,700 approx) and the 6GB RAM/128GB variant will be priced at RMB 1,799 (Rs 17,700 approx).
P.S If Xiaomi Redmi Pro 2 is launched in India in the coming months it will become the first Chinese smartphone series in India to debut without the first generation device.
