Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has been one of the top selling smartphones in India since its launch and as Xiaomi gears up for the launch of Redmi Note 6 Pro, the Chinese smartphone maker has announced a permanent price cut for the Redmi Note 5 Pro. If reports are to be believed, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro has become one of the most sold smartphones from the company and its successor, the Redmi Note 6 Pro, will take advantage of this legacy.
Coming back to the price cut, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro, which was currently retailing at Rs. 14,999 for the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version, has received a price cut worth Rs. 1,000 bringing its effective price to Rs. 13,999. On the other hand, the 6GB RAM and 64GB storage version, which was priced at Rs. 16,999, will now retail at Rs. 15,999.
Moreover, the Xiaomi Redmi Y2 and Xiaomi Mi A2 prices have also been slashed by the same margin. The Xiaomi Mi A2, which was earlier priced at Rs. 16,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, will now retail at Rs. 15,999 while its 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is now priced at Rs. 18,999 instead of Rs. 19,999.
The Xiaomi Redmi Y2, on the other hand, has also received a price cut from Rs. 12,999 to Rs. 11,999 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB variant. It was confirmed that all new prices came into effect from November 16 in India across online as well as offline stores.
Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has been confirmed to launch on November 22 in India and while it is expected to be priced between Rs. 15,000 to Rs. 20,000, it will also Xiaomi’s first smartphone to come with a quad camera setup. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has already been launched in India and it comes with upgrades such as four cameras and a bigger display with notch over its predecessor, while rest remains the same.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro comes with a 6.26-inch Full HD+ (2280×1080 pixels resolution) display with 2.5D curved glass and 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it is powered by the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 636 14nm processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz and comes paired with Adreno 509 GPU for graphics. The smartphone will come with at least 4GB of and 64GB of inbuilt storage, which will be expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.
While the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro supports Hybrid Dual SIM (nano + nano / microSD), it runs Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box with MIUI on top. In the camera department, there is a 12MP primary rear camera with 1.4μm pixel size, dual-tone LED Flash, Dual PD focus, f/1.9 aperture, EIS, and a secondary 5MP camera sensor. At the front, there is a 20MP primary camera sensor with f/2.0 aperture and a secondary 2-megapixel camera sensor.
Other features of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro include a fingerprint sensor mounted on the rear panel, Dual 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS + GLONASS and a 4000mAh battery.
