Xiaomi is on a roll these days and after launching the selfie-focused Redmi Y2 in India, it has now revealed the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Xiaomi Redmi 6A which will cater to the entry level segment buyers. However, since Xiaomi smartphones have evolved over the years, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A seem like they are packed with a host of the premium feature while the company has still managed to launch them with a rather attractive price tag.
The Xiaomi Redmi 6-series is the successor to the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5A smartphones, which have been two of the highest selling smartphones so far in the year. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 6 comes with several high-end features such as facial recognition, dual rear cameras and Android Oreo out of the box. On the other hand, the Xiaomi Redmi 6A is a lower-end version with just a single 13-megapixel rear camera and facial recognition but there is no fingerprint scanner on the Redmi 6A.
Other than that, both the smartphones are powered by the recently launched mid-power MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) 12nm processor which is clocked at 2GHz. On the other hand, while the Xiaomi Redmi 6 has been launched in two RAM/Storage variants, the Redmi 6A comes with just a 2GB RAM and 16GB storage model. That being said, the size of both the smartphones remains the same as they both are shipped with a 5.45-inch display having 18:9 aspect ratio.
