Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to be launched on 19th April alongside a flagship from the Chinese manufacturer dubbed as Xiaomi Mi 6. While the latter has been one of the most anticipated smartphones this year, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 also has created a hype for its poor man’s iPhone-like features.
Xiaomi Mi Max 2 key feature is the expected 6.44 inch HD display and a hardware package that can put almost every other phablet in India to shame. There has been many leaks and rumors about the upcoming smartphone but just a day before its expected official launch, we witnessed another leak that has given us some major clues about Xiaomi Mi Max 2’s design.
The highlight of this leak is the Antenna band which has been incorporated just like it has been done with the iPhone 7. The tweaked antenna band comes with a U-shaped design which also means that Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will also be a metal-bodied smartphone. Another major tweak that this leak has uncovered is the placement of the rear camera and LED flash. The LED flash is placed before the rear camera now and the entire back cover is just one large piece of metal.
The image also shows that there is a 3.5mm audio jack, an IR blaster and a secondary mic at the top while at the bottom USB Type-C port has replaced the micro USB port.
Here is the round-up of the all the expected specification that Xiaomi Mi Max 2 mat come with.
6.44-inch (1920×1080) HD display, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660 chipset paired with 4GB RAM (6GB also expected) 128GB of internal storage but there has been no word about expandable storage option. Xiaomi Mi Max 2 will also feature a 12MP auto-focus rear camera with LED flash and 4K video support, a 5MP front-facing unit for selfies and video calling. Other specifications include 5000mAh battery with quick charge support, Android Nougat with MIUI 9 on top, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, Bluetooth, Accelerometer, Barometer, Light sensor, Digital compass, Gyroscope, Pedometer and Proximity sensor.
As for the price, Xiaomi Mi Max 2 is expected to be launched at RMB 1,499 (approximately Rs 14,999) which may differ according to the storage options.
19th April is going to be a never ending treat for smartphone enthusiasts in India as other than Xiaomi Mi Max 2’s unveiling in China, another flagship from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer, Mi 6, will also be launched tomorrow. If this is not enough for you, Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will also be officially launched in India.
See the thing is, Samsung Galaxy S8 is an exceptional device but going by the leaks about Mi 6, Indian consumers may want to wait for the latter as it promises a better VFM package with the recently launched Snapdragon 835 SoC and 6GB of RAM. However, if premiumness is what you are looking for, Samsung Galaxy S8 has all the bells and whistle to satisfy the tech enthusiast inside you.
