Vivo V5 Plus to be launched on 23 January with Dual Front Camera.

Vivo is all set to launch its much awaited V5 Plus with a dual front camera and V series being the family of some of the most sorted out camera smartphones, users are going to be hooked for seeing the launch on 23rd January 2017 in India.

This will be the first smartphone (budget) launch of 2017 and since companies like Redmi, Lenovo, Motorola and Gionee have launched their respective knights in the category, Vivo V5 Plus will face a stiff competition in the category.

Back in November, Vivo launched its selfie centric smartphone named V5 with a 5.5-inch display with HD (1280×720) resolution and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3. It was powered by a 1.8 GHz Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor coupled with 4GB RAM, Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Vivo’s FunTouch OS 2.6 out of the box and 32GB internal storage, expandable upto 128GB via microSD card.

In the camera department it offered a 13MP sensor on the back while a 20MP shooter with ‘Moonlight Glow’ at the front took charge of selfies duties. The camera on the back featured a soft-LED flash and PDAF (phase detection autofocus).

The smartphone also featured a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, a 3,000mAh battery, 4G LTE band support and dual-SIM card slot.

Vivo V5 Plus was teased at the time of predecessor’s launch in November and the company has done really good to keep its specifications undercover. However, Vivo has started giving media invites for the V5 Plus launch and whether the dual front camera will be the only differentiating aspect or the company will launch a beefed up processor for Vivo V5 Plus, this we will get to know at the launch.

Meanwhile it is our tendency to set expectation benchmarks and going by the dual camera smartphone that Vivo sells in China with the name X9, we can expect V5 PLus to feature a 5.5 inch AMOLED display, Snapdragon 653 SoC and a minimum of 4GB RAM as X9 features a 6GB RAM under the hood.

Considering the existing competition, a 16MP camera, 4000 mAh battery and a price tag between Rs 20,000 to Rs 22500 can do wonders for the new entrant.
