Redmi Note 4 to Launch in January 2017: Here is All You Need to Know

When it comes to the best 2016 smartphone launched in India, the likes of Samsung Galaxy S7, iPhone 7 and Google Pixel are some of the main contenders of the title. You can also put OnePlus 3 in the list but these are some of the high priced premium smartphones. When VFM (Value for Money) comes into the picture, there is only one smartphone that has been the undisputed champion in India of 2016, Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.

Since its launch in 2014, Xiaomi has taken the Indian smartphone market by storm by launching some of the unbeatable VFM devices. One such was the Redmi Note 3. Months after its launch and many flash sales on the online portals, Note 3 is still ruling the budget smartphone category.

People often think, why to buy a Rs 30,000+ smartphone when Redmi has all the bells and whistles in the sub Rs 15000 category except a good camera. However, smartphone manufacturers like Lenovo, Motorola, OnePlus and Honor have launched some of the breathtaking models in the recent months and after letting them enjoy some of the spotlight, Xiaomi is coming back to haunt them them again with the Redmi Note 4.

If we go by the rumours, Xiaomi is all set to launch the Redmi Note 4 with Snapdragon 625 SoC instead of the Mediatek version launched in China. Redmi Note 4 is expected to launch with a price tag of Rs 12,000 and if this is true, Redmi will definitely retain its best smartphone position in India.

Why? It’s because most of the sub Rs 12000 smartphones comes with a Snapdragon 430 processor and the 625 version will add breathtaking power under the hood.

Other Specifications

Adreno 506 GPU, a 5.5-inch (1920×1080 pixels) full HD screen with a 2.5D curved cover glass, 2/3/4GB RAM versions, a 13-megapixel rear camera with a phase detect autofocus system and a 5-megapixel front camera. The phone could be offered in 32GB and 64GB versions, while retaining the 4,100mAh battery which has been the USP of Redmi Note 3.

Bells and whistles include 4G LTE with VoLTE support, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GLONASS, Bluetooth, a fingerprint scanner at the back, USB OTG and a micro USB port for charging.

Surprisingly, the Chinese version still works on Mi UI 8 supporting Android Marshmallow and Xiaomi may launch an Android Nougat Version out of the box.

All these specifications looks promising and considering the popularity of Redmi in India, Note 4 may become an Instant hit in the country.

However, Redmi Note 4 will face a stiff competition with Lenovo K6 Power as the latter recorded 35000 sales within 15 minutes of its launch last week.
