Panasonic P95 Launched In India with 5-Inch HD Display, Face Unlock And More

In between all the flagships that have been launched in India or are still awaited to be launched, Panasonic has launched a new entry-level smartphone in India which is touted to take on none other than the segment-leader, Nokia 2. Dubbed as the Panasonic P95, it comes with a 5-inch HD display but misses on the 18:9 aspect ratio, something which other entry-level players have slowly started to offer. That being said, when it comes to the price tag, the Panasonic P95 seems to be a great package at Rs. 4,999 as it also comes with segment first features such as Face Unlock.

Apart from the Face Unlock feature, other highlights of the Panasonic P95 include a dedicated microSD card slot, a decent battery back and a quad-core processor. On the other hand, the smartphone also comes with a limited period launch offer through which interested buyers can get the Panasonic P95 at a rock bottom price.

Before dwelling into further details, let’s see what the Panasonic P95 has to offer and can it manage to become the perfect competitor for the Nokia 2.

Panasonic P95 Price and Availability

The Panasonic P95 will be available in Blue, Dark Grey, and Gold color options and will retail at Rs. 4999 via both online as well as offline channels. That being said, as an introductory offer, the Panasonic P95 will be available at Rs. 3999 during the Flipkart Big Shopping Day Sale which starts from 13th May 2018 and will conclude on 16th May 2018.

As mentioned above, the Panasonic P95 will be going head-to-head against the Nokia 2, which sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720) HD LTPS LCD In-Cell display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 212 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz and coupled with Adreno 304 GPU

The Nokia 2 also comes with 1GB LPDDR3 RAM and 8GB of internal memory, expandable up to 128GB with microSD. It runs Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) OS out of the box which is upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo) and comes with Dual SIM support as well as a dedicated microSD card slot.

For optics, there is an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera coupled with LED Flash and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera. Other features include Splash proof (IP52) rating, 3.5mm audio jack, and FM Radio. While the Nokia 2 measures 143.5 x 71.3 x 9.30 mm, connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, GPS / GLONASS. The whole package is backed by a 4100mAh battery and is priced at Rs. 6,999.

Now from what we can see, the Nokia 2 offers much more than the Panasonic P95 while the latter comes at a very attractive price tag. In short, if you are looking for a no-nonsense entry-level smartphone and that too at a very small budget, then go for the Panasonic P95 but if you are looking for the best Android smartphone experience and want a durable handset, go for the Nokia 2.

That being said, at Rs 3,999 during the Flipkart Big Shopping Day Sale, the Panasonic P95 is a great deal and there isn’t a better package in the entry-level segment than this, as of now.
