OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition vs OnePlus 6T: What’s new and what’s different?

OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has finally landed in India after a host of leaks as well as rumours and while its India launch comes on the very next day of its global unveiling, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has turned out to be a real premium version of the OnePlus 6T. While many might think that the new McLaren Edition of the smartphone doesn’t have much to justify the price tag, it will be safe to say that the new variant of the OnePlus 6T has still managed to maintain the VFM tag.

But with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, it’s not about the price rather it’s about the limited edition feel that the device offers and man, the feel of holding a smartphone built out of the same carbon fiber which is present in McLaren cars is going to be great. On the other hand, earlier reports suggested that the new OnePlus 6T variant will come with 10GB of RAM and the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has indeed become the first smartphone from the company to feature 10GB of RAM.

But that’s not it. The McLaren Edition of the OnePlus 6T comes with another important upgrade which is inspired from the speed that McLaren cars are known for. OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition, which is a result of the partnership between McLaren and the Chinese smartphone maker, comes with super fast 30W Warp Charge as well.

While it could be seen as the answer to the Super VOOC charging by Oppo, the 30W Warp Charge can offer 50 percent of battery charge in just 20 minutes of time. This is going to be enough for a full day of usage under moderate usage, considering the fact that the OnePlus 6T comes with a 3700mAh battery. Moreover, the device comes with some serious management technology in form of Integrated Circuits for the charger and the smartphone. There is also an integrated software for power management.

As part of the box contents, there will be a Papaya Orange braided cord cable, the iconic Speedmark which is recreated with McLaren-designed F1 AA grade carbon fiber and McLaren’s logo. The F1 AA grade carbon fiber is interestingly used to build McLaren MCL33 2018 Formula 1 car.

Coming to the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition design theme, there is also a Papaya Orange finish which could be seen around the bottom edge of the smartphone while it fades into the black as it comes up. The pattern underneath the glass back the new OnePlus 6T edition is based on McLaren’s renowned carbon fiber.

These are all the new upgrades that you will find in the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition over the conventional OnePlus 6T and if you are confused over what exactly is the difference between the two variants in terms of specifications and what kind of price hike has the company announced, here is a detailed comparison between the two devices.
