Nokia 9 Rumored To Come With Dual-Rear Camera and Snapdragon 835

Nokia 9 is going to be launched very soon and it has already been subjected various leaks as well as rumors, through which, we can have a basic idea of what HDM Global-Owned Nokia will be offering in this premium smartphone. Last week, we witnessed a promotional video of the upcoming Nokia 9 that didn’t reveal much but recently, prototype images, as well as some of the specifications, has also been leaked on a benchmark site.

With the launch of Nokia 9, HDM Global is going to take on the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, iPhone 7, the upcoming iPhone 8 and the new Google Pixel Series. But for that, there has to be enough power and high-end multimedia tech in the Nokia 9. Keeping up with the expectations, these new leaks suggests that the former ruler is going right at it and is going to launch an Android smartphone that will definitely pierce through the sales charts of his competition.

Let’s talk about the specifications first.

According to a recent listing on Geekbench, the same platform where Nokia 3 and 5 were listed, the company is gearing up for the launch of Nokia 7, Nokia 8 and Nokia 9. The listing suggests that while Nokia 8 will be powered by a 1.84 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm 660 SoC coupled with 3GB of RAM and Android 7.1.1 Nougat, Nokia 9 is going to be the flagship device with 1.90 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB RAM and Android 7.1.1 Nougat.

The third smartphone is going to be the Nokia 7 that will be powered by Snapdragon 630 SoC and 3GB of RAM.

Coming to the design and multimedia specs, frandroid.com seems to have gotten their hands on the prototype of Nokia 9 and they have released some of the important features of the smartphone. Since it was covered with a casing, they have kept the design away from prying eyes, however, the pictures clearly show that Nokia 9 will be launched with a USB Type-C charging port and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.

The leaks further confirm the presence of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 4GB RAM and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It also reveals that Nokia 9 will come with 64GB of internal storage and a 5.3-inch or 5.5-inch QHD (1440×2560 pixels) display. Interestingly. The leak doesn’t rule out the possibility of a 6GB RAM variant.

As for optics, Nokia 9 is going to come with a dual-rear camera setup which has been confirmed by this leak and intermingling the previous leaks, the smartphone will feature dual 13MP camera at the rear with dual-LED and PDAF support. Details about the front camera were not disclosed via this leak.

The fingerprint scanner is expected to be embedded in the home button as the back of Nokia 9 doesn’t seem to feature one, in these pictures. Further, the battery capacity has not been revealed as of now, but the flagship from Nokia is expected to come with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 support.

As for the pricing, if rumors are to be believed, Nokia 9 will come with a hefty price-tag of Rs 49,990 and is expected to be launched in the third quarter of 2017 after the launch of Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 in June.
