BlackBerry Motion Is Going To Be Blackberry’s First Full Screen Android Smartphone

Earlier this year, when the Blackberry Keyone was launched by TCL Communications, the current owner of the brand, it received a warm welcome around the world and though it didn’t witness a huge success, the story of restoring the brand to its former glory had nothing but an engaging start.

Since TCL promised us a full-screen Android-powered smartphone, rumors about the BlackBerry Motion (Krypton) have been doing the rounds for quite a while now and after launching the first ever Blackberry with QWERTY keypad as well as Android OS, now the company is preparing to take us on another nostalgic ride with an even better combination.

Blackberry’s first full-screen smartphone with Android OS and IP67 rating for water & dust resistance. Man Oh Man!!

To fan the flames, Evan Blass has leaked the first look of BlackBerry Motion’s front panel and to say the least, it is highly likely that the new Blackberry Fullscreen Android-Powered smartphone will be a classic device though not in the traditional Blackberry way.

Going by the leaked image, BlackBerry Motion is not going to support the bezel-less display theme that every other flagship has been following, however, we would also like to add that after witnessing the launch of Keyone, we expect BlackBerry Motion to come with mid-range specs and a justifiable price tag for a mass appeal.

Moreover, the BlackBerry Motion is expected to come with a Snapdragon 625 (or 626) SoC under the hood, coupled with Adreno 506 GPU as well as 4GB RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. Going by previous rumors, the smartphone is also expected to come with a bigger 4000 mAh battery giving almost two days worth of juice on mixed usage and Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

As far as the display is concerned, BlackBerry Motion is likely to support a Full HD 1920X1080 unit, offering 441 PPI and a higher contrast ratio than the Blackberry Keyone. The leak by Evan Blass also suggests that BlackBerry Motion will support a 3.5 mm jack and a fingerprint scanner embedded in the home button, which also carries a striking Blackberry logo.

While detail specifications about BlackBerry Motion are scarce, we also expect the camera duties to be handled by the same sensor we saw on the KeyOne as Blackberry will definitely love to give its fans an option to either opt for a full-screen smartphone or go old-school with the QWERTY keypad.

Everything said and done, TCL’s attempt at resurrecting the Blackberry Brand with Keyone has been received well and if the BlackBerry Motion is packaged perfectly, it might end up becoming the new flagship killer of full-screen Android smartphones.
