Idea Cellular launches Rs. 149 prepaid plan to tackle Bharti Airtel and BSNL: Here’s everything you need to know

Idea Cellular seems to be on a roll these days because the Indian telco has just announced the Idea Cellular Rs. 595 long-validity prepaid plan and now, the company has announced the Rs. 149 voice only prepaid plan in India. In the last couple of weeks leading telcos in India have launched a couple of voice only plans to lure customers and while the biggest highlight of these voice only prepaid recharge plans is the fact that it offers truly unlimited voice calls to the subscribers, their prices are more affordable than that of the combo plans which also comes bundled with mobile data.

That being said, even though the majority of the population uses mobile data plans which comes with voice calling benefits, there are some users who still go for a voice-only plan and the Idea Rs. 149 voice only prepaid plan has been launched to cater to these group of users. For the unknown, Bharti Airtel and BSNL has also launched their respective voice only plans in the last couple of weeks or so and while the Airtel Rs. 249 voice only recharge pack offers unlimited voice calls (local, STD and roaming) and 100 SMS per day for 45 days.

On the other hand, the BSNL Rs. 99 voice only plan seems to be the most affordable one in the segment as it comes with unlimited voice calls without any FUP limit for 28 days. Coming to the Idea Rs. 149 voice only prepaid plan, it comes with unlimited voice calls (local, STD and roaming) but there is a daily limit of 250 minutes and a weekly limit of 1000 minutes. On the other hand, users can also make calls to only 100 different numbers for seven consecutive days. If any Idea subscribers cross any of the above-mentioned limits, he/she will be charged one paisa per second for all calls.

While the Idea Rs. 149 voice only prepaid plan comes with a validity of 21 days, it also comes bundled with 100 SMS per day. On the other hand, Idea Cellular also has the Idea Rs. 199 prepaid unlimited combo plan which comes with 1.4GB of daily data coupled with unlimited voice calls (local, STD and roaming) and 100 SMS every day. That being said, there is also a daily limit of 250 minutes and a weekly limit of 1000 minutes. On the other hand, users can also make calls to only 100 different numbers for seven consecutive days.

Coming to the Idea Cellular Rs. 595 prepaid plan, it is a long validity prepaid plan which comes with 10GB of data, unlimited voice calling (local, STD and roaming), 100 SMS per day and a validity of 112 days. However, there is also a daily limit of 250 minutes and a weekly limit of 1000 minutes. On the other hand, users can also make calls to only 100 different numbers for seven consecutive days.
