Sushmita Rai Won Bronze At World Martial Arts Masterships!!

Sushmita Rai, a girl from Majhitar, East Sikkim made today a historic day for India as she grabbed a bronze medal in World Martial Arts Mastership 2016. The Mastership was organised at Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do of South Korea.

It has 2,073 participants from 87 countries, the competition was an Olympics for martial arts and was the first of its kind.

It was the first comprehensive Martial arts Mastership where national teams from across the globe participated. Sushmita was one of the 12-member Indian contingents who participated in the week-long competition.

Last year, Kamarey Bhasmey, the pugilist from the village of East Sikkim had also won a Silver Medal at the Asian Kickboxing Championship 2015 which was held in Pune, Maharashtra.

After the competition was concluded, Sushmita expressed her gratitude to former Indian footballer Baichung Bhutia. She is currently pursuing her Bachelors in Arts from the Sikkim Government College, Tadong-Gangtok and is also engaged as a Coaching Instructor of Rey Valley International School. The girl clearly has bigger dreams for future.
