In India, the craze of football is slowly catching up to that of Cricket and if there’s one player from the Indian cricket team who can’t be kept away from the football grounds then it has to be MS Dhoni. Our Captain Cool has a long history with football, which was also shown in his biopic, MS Dhonii: The Untold Story.
As a child, Dhoni loved playing football and always wanted to do something in the sport, however, a little bit of guidance and a circle of time changed the entire calculation of life for him. Whatever may have happened, MS Dhoni still makes sure to play and indulge in a little football, every now and then.
In a recent video posted by the New Zealand cricket team opener, Martin Guptill, MS Dhoni can be seen playing a friendly match of a rather interesting game of soccer-volleyball. The video is from the rain-shortened third T20I between India and New Zealand on Tuesday in Thiruvananthapuram. Along with MS Dhoni and Martin Guptill, Manish Pandey and Tom Bruce can also be seen having a fun time in the video, as well. This particular video of a friendly match between players from two rival teams is a perfect example of the phrase, ‘rivals on the field and friends off the field’.
Guptill captioned the video on Instagram, “What do you do in a rain delay? Play soccer volleyball with @tombruce42 @mahi7781 and @manishpandeyinsta !”
After watching this video, one thing is for sure that both the Blues and Blacks were having the time of their lives and the entire game even seemed a lot of fun to indulge in. Wanna try your own hand in a friendly match of this ‘soccer-volleyball’ concoction?
