Delhi Daredevils chances of making it to the Indian Premier League (IPL) play-offs are looking down as they lost to Rising Pune Supergiants by 19 runs via Duckworth-Lewis method due to a rain-marred tie on Tuesday at the VCA Stadium.
RPS won the toss and decided to bowl first, Delhi Got off to a poor start as Dinda’s impressive bowling sent back both the opening batsmen Quinton de Kock and Shreyas Iyer early. Karun Nair tried to anchor Delhi’s innings as he smashed 41 runs off 43 deliveries.
Having Sanju Samson on the other side Delhi was struggling for runs as Dinda and Zampa continued their impressive performance of Bowling.
Sanju Samson was stumped by Mahendra Singh Dhoni when he was playing at 10 in the 10th over of the game.
RPS bowling was not giving any chance to Delhi’s batsmen to score though Nair provided some calmness in the middle but Zampa and Ravichandran Ashwin was taking them on the troll. Rishabh Pant came to bat and was caught early by Perera. Pant was playing just at 4 when he got dismissed in 13th over of the game. Delhi was struggling at 62/4 in 13 overs.

The amazing display of Bowling by RPS restricted the Daredevils to score a big total.
Pune was chasing a target of 122 runs and they got off to a flying start as their opening batsmen Usman Khawaja and Ajinkya Rahane smashed 31 runs in the first three overs of their innings.

In the fourth over Khawaja fell and was dismissed by Morris. Khawaja’s dismissal brought George Bailey, who along with Rahane scored 26 runs for Pune.
Pune was playing at 57 runs with the loss of 1 wicket when rains disrupted the match. After the rain stopped Rahane and Bailey returned to play and they could only add 19 runs as the rain once again stopped Pune to play.
Pune was at 76/1, 19 runs ahead of the par score. The match was finally called off due to rain and Pune won by Duckworth-Lewis method.
