A Gain For Alex Albon Finally!

He might not have started the current season in the most stylish manner by registering a DNF at the opening round at Spielberg, home to the Austrian Grand Prix, but the races ever since have been nothing but marked improvement for Red Bull driver Alex Albon.

In the second round at Styria, Alex Albon finished with a strong P4. This was a massive improvement than the heartbreaking DNF at the opener where thanks to a mistake by Lewis Hamilton, the Thai-British driver wasn’t able to finish the contest.

Then, most recently, the young driver scored a gritty P5 for Red Bull at the high-speed Hungaroring, a race that clearly belonged to Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, which is well, the usual order of the day.

And now, it appears that there’s a gain for Alex Albon in that popular F1 race engineer Simon Rennie, formerly with Daniel Ricciardo, is now all set to join the Red Bull driver.

And in so doing, Rennie will also make a return to a trackside F1 role. And there’s a bit of a history too in there for Rennie and the team to which he now returns once again.

Actually, it was back in 2013 season where Rennie was with Red Bull. Back then, he was associated with popular Australian driver Mark Webber, also known as Aussie grit. Thereon, as Webber bowed out from the sport but not before contributing toward Red Bull’s rise with Vettel delivering cracker of a drive, all throughout, Rennie would stay on and partner another driver.

Then, it was Daniel Ricciardo, hailed as the honeybadger.

And now, as he makes his return, Simon Rennie is all set to team up with the mercurial and talented Alex Albon.

Moreover, a popular F1 media site had the following statement from the popular Christian Horner-led team:

As a team we are committed to maximising the performance of the RB16 and our drivers as we continue our championship campaign in this shortened and condensed season

This weekend, Formula 1 resumes the rip-roaring action as racing returns to Silverstone, home to the British Grand Prix and also a venue considered as the spiritual home of the sport itself!

It’s precisely here at Silverstone that Lewis Hamilton- maybe not Alex Albon’s most favorite driver, in light vein- has against his name six separate race wins.

Call that a tally, ha?

And it’s therefore no surprise that once again, Mercedes and star driver Lewis Hamilton are tipped to be the frontrunners to elope with what could very possibly be back-to-back wins at the British racer’s home racing event.

But against that narrative, there are several sub-plots that possibly offer mouth-watering excitement to decorate our race weekend:

What if Max Verstappen’s Red Bull stuns everyone? What if Valtteri Bottas controls’ Hamilton’s tenacious form at the track where he won in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017, and then, after a year’s gap in 2019 again?

Moreover, what can Alex Albon do at Hamilton’s home race? So where do you think the young driver might end up in the weekend’s British Grand Prix? Let us know in the comment section below.
